Attention AVID!!!  Owner Riggin Hooks

Featured Replies

Hey man I thought I read somewhere that you like to use the Riggin Hooks from Owner. A huge Owner fan myself and I just picked up the last pack of Riggin Hooks from Dicks. 3/0 is the size. Thinking about using these hooks with my GYCB Kreatures since they have a short body. What other baits do you have success with on these hooks and what other size do you recommend. Thanks man!  8-)

They are designed for use with grubs but can be used in any situation that would call for an EWG ;)

3/0 are a little small for my taste, but I do use them for trick worms, and finesse worms.

I use 4/0 for most of my applications.  It is the best hook I have found for senko's, and possibly creature baits.

Niksfishingmom, uses GYCB kreatures as her go to bait, so she no doubt has a good hook for that bait.

The 5/0 riggin is hands the best horny toad hook I have ever used.  I like them even better than the zoom HT hook.

riggins are most used hook.  I have a great hook up percentage with them, they are more weedless than any other offset design, and that huge offset bend and cutting point make it hard NOT to stick a bass.

have fun and good luck.

I use 4/0 EWG for almost every soft plastic and specifically GYCB Kreatures.

I use the 5/0 owner riggin hook for fat ikas. It seems to be the perfect hook for that particular bait.

I use 3/0 for the berkley sabertail bug, again, it fits perfect and does not slide.

For baits that tend to slide down the hook, like horny toads, I fell in love with the Gammy skip gap hook.

For horny toads, I still have to go with the Owner twist lock.  Strong, sharp, and prolongs the life of the bait.

I really like the rig'n for thick bodied plastics.

My friend uses the 1/0 for whacky worms and nose hooking flukes, works better for him than the octopus style hook.

When I lived up North I used regular EWG hooks.

but it the impossibly weedy conditions of my home lake in FLA, I found that any offset of a 90 degree angle was enough to catch grass.

The owner rig'n has that sloping offset, and the grass slides away.

It is a fine point to be sure, but it has caught me bass in stuff so thick no other offset would have worked.

My go to worm hook is an owner straight shank, for essentially the same reason.

To illustrate,  here you see the typical offset hook with the 90 degree angle

Here you see the rigN hook with the sloping offset

I tried alot of hooks before I settled on this one for weedlessness and superior hook ups
