Hi everyone.I'm looking for small cranks rod.Do you guys have experience with loomis crankbait glx and kistler helium lta and ltx crankbait rods?I'm thinking about 1/8-3/8 cranks and topwaters.How do you feel these rods.Waiting for your opinions.Thankx for any input.

This is a great rod for small lures. I have mine matched

with a Stella 1000FA. Although I use this fishing for white

bass, stocker trout and crappie, it will load up and can handle

much bigger fish.

The Action is rated fast, but the tip is soft. Sensitivity is good

and actually much better than you need for the techniques you

described. Spend your money on the G. Loomis GLX when you

are looking for a jig and soft plastics rod.

You're right about this rod.I had this one,but now I'm looking for BC rod can handle well  1/8-3/8 cranks.I like graphite and mix because weight.Maybe someone got other idea?

AVC70MM with a Daiwa Sol is what I use for small to medium cranks.  It throws peanut size cranks just fine on 8# P-Line CXX.

Hey J Francho did you use it for topwaters too ?

Only once, when I was forced to, since I didn't bring usual TW rod to a TX - a 6' MH/Fast.  I threw Sammy 100's and Spittn' Images.  I'm only 5-7 and use a downward stroke for TW, so a shorter rod suits me.  I didn't like the moderate action for them either; I felt a little disconnected from the bait, despite it being a very sensitive rod.  I suppose if I didn't know better, I'd get used to it.  Anyway, the AVC70MM is very well suite for 3/4 of my cranking needs.  For the big deep divers, I plan to add a AVC70MHM with the same reel.

 I have the CBR843 and pair it with a Diawa Sol (only Diawa I own).

This is an AWESOME crank bait set up BUT it is a tad light for deep cranks that run over 5'. I am currently looking at the next level higher, 845 I believe, in the Loomis line of crank rods to add for my deeper cranks.    

I Think I'm using #10 mono on it but possibly #12.  Pretty sure it's 10 though.  I forget.  Anyway, I throw a 3 inch Rapala floater minnow with no effort at all.  I also use up to 1/2 ounce traps on it.

St Croix legend tournament 7'0 MM (small cranker) with a daiwa sol. This setup will throw the smallest cranks fine. I will also fish RC 1.5's on this setup.

Give the LTA's a look.  You still might be able to find the 08's on sale.  A month or two ago I picked-up a He69MC and paired it with a Chronarch Mg51.  I plan on using this rig for exactly what you stated: small cranks and topwater, as well as small pointers and spinnerbaits.

I use a 6'9" Powell medium power moderate action. I use it for light topwaters and my bandit cranks. Great rod that throws the light stuff a mile.
