what are your prefered types of flourocarbon line for your main line? spinning and casting reels.

Don't use the stuff myself but a lot of other people here do.

Vanish has always been a good confidence line for me.  Usually 8-10 lb. for my spinning.  have used others, but Vanish has caught me a lot of fish, and I just like it on my spinning tackle.  I have not used fleuro on my bait casters, but will try this year.  I look forward to some responses related to bait casters, so I can learn, and use some good info for this years set-ups.

thanks for the answers so far... i just recently learned the benefits of using flouro as your main line, so what i always do is go check the reviews on cabelas and basspro and it seems that a specific p-line and yo zuri do the best but hoo knows thats just what the reviews said but cant wait to see more opinions.

I've tried several and have found XPS to have the characteristics I like.

Trilene 100% Flouro

I used Berkley 100% Fluoro last year and when freshly spooled on a reel it seemed to work well. However, after having in on the reel for a few weeks out in the sun I found the exposed line to turn brittle and I would have to pull off several yards before I could get a knot to hold.

It seems an expensive line would have some UV protection built in. Other then it getting brittle it did work well and was very sensitive and abrasion resitant. I don't like mono or fluoro for spinning reels, so I have only used 12 to 17 lb.

I use Seaguar Invisix on my spinning rod and Berkley 100% on my casting rods.

Trilene 100% fluoro, although I'm going to order some Shooter very shortly to give it a shot.

Seaguar for me but I do not use flouro on spinning tackle.

i looked up the shooter line some of you mentioned and it actuallly looks pretty promising, but dont know if its any good for baitcasting. what website did you guys find shooter on i found mine on a g loomis website? thanks for all the replies keep em comin

I have used Trilene Professional Grade 100% Flouro since it's release and although I don't like the green, I LOVE the clear.

One day when I was at Cabelas, I tried their 100% flourocarbon and I swear it's the same thing.  You can get 600 yards for the same price as 200 of the Trilene and it's just as good.  It doesn't come in tints yet that may happen sometime.

I used flouro on every reel and rod except for top water (mono) and my heavy flipping stick (braid), even my spinning reels.  I swear by the stuff and would highly recommend at least trying the 200 yrd spool for flouro users.

The Cabelas Flouro is made by Seaguar, so it's basically Seaguar InvisX in a different box.

Trilene Professional Grade 100% Flurocarbon for me. I had ZERO issues with it last year, and will continue to use it with confidence. Baron49, UV resistant is soposedly one of flurocarbon line benifits, I did not expierance your problem  at all, and my rods sat out on the deck in the hot sun quite often, as I fish as often as 7 days a week, and rarley less than 3. Now when not in use my boat is under cover out of the sun/heat, maybe this is what the difference is?  

I currently use the 100% floro, but the Pline floro is very nice as well.

I noticed they have their house brand mono and braid discounted as well. Any idea what is up with that? Are they possibly switching manufacturers of their house lines?

P-Line 100% fluro.  Good managability, very sensitive, tough abrasion resistance. and most cost effiecent fluoro I have found besides Vicious and Vanish (junk).  For the price of most fluoros you get 250 yds of P-Line vs 200yds of the competitors.

Fishing Doug-  No; they are indeed discontinuing a few lines, but Seaguar still makes the Cabelas leader material and the Cabelas No-Viz.

I have used Cabelas no-vis, and bass pro xps and have found them both to be very satisfactory.
