I need a bc rod that will allow me to fish 3" grubs with 1/8 and 1/4 oz heads on 6 or 8# line. This is way out of my league. The lightest power I own is a MH.

I only need one rod and only want to buy one rod but don't have a clue. Here are three I thought might do the job but I really don't know.

G.Loomis SMR811S-SP Bronzeback 6'9" Light

G.Loomis SBR811C Spinner Bait Rod 6'9" Light

G.Loomis BSR801 Mossy Back Jig/Worm 6'8" Med-Light

You would be miles ahead using spinning tackle for these baits and

line weight requirements.

I normally do but have a wrist injury which won't allow all day fishing that way.  I need something that I can trade off every hour or so.  I do a bit of left hand spinning casting but am not a good hook setter with spinning lefty.

id suggest a bcr802 and daiwa pixy or presso. ive never used a presso but i hear pixy is a better deal...

i believe the bsr801 is a spinning rod....

Check out these rods from Lamiglas. One thing about Lamiglas is that most places are likely to sell their rods for about 25% less than MSRP so don't let the $230 price tag scare you. For example a competitor rod has an MSRP of $112 but no store in my area sells them for more than $75.

My favorite "go-to" for those lure choices is a 10/20 size spinning reel on either a 7' ML St. Croix Premier or the old 6'8" ML "Woo Daves" Extreme (BPS) spinning rod. Either 6 or 8 lb. quality clear mono or fluorocarbon. Definitely the go-to for clear-water highland smallies...

St Croix LTB "drop shot" might be just what you are looking for. I had the older style and it worked just fine for that, I was just more comfortable with a spinning rod using 1/8oz heads. So, I sold it here on the boards some time ago. It might be just the ticket for what you are looking to do. Let us know what you end up with!
