I used to have one of them... use it for anything you like... don't let the name discourage you, it's a great all purpose rod.

maybe not crankbaits though, unless just the ML.

80 - 60 = 20

Next question

I believe the blanks are different

Not the same brand but I have a Quantum Tour PT 6'10" Heavy action that I use for pitching jigs mostly, it's really more of a backup to my MBR 844c for say there not hitting the black and blue jig, I'll have a different color on the Tour ready to go, but it also does make a good frog rod in the real heavy junk.

As for the team vs select, they are different blanks, but for 60 bucks the select is one heck of a rod. It's heavier the the team, but I would put it up against most 100 dollar rods any day.

i have the select 7.0 mh carolina rig was just thinking i could do same thing with the 6'10" team rod instead as it feels lighter and it matches my sets as my other two baitcasters are team im10 rods,,,, also looked at the 7'2 asr series for my pitching flipping slop rod if you will

If you choose the 6'10" heavy rod, it is a "pitching rod" by name, you said can also be frog rod, heavy spinner baits and the like. Because a "pitching" rod, does it change the way it casts? If one was to have to cast with the heavy rod occasionally? What line would you put on it to cover all those situations, in an effort to make it a more all purpose set-up for heavier stuff?

I use my All Star American Classic 7' H/XF "pitching rod" almost exlusively as a frog rod.  It's perfect in that respect.

Here's an exclusive photo of the plant where the All Star select rods are made. In this shot, a group of enthusiastic workers prep a future flippin stick for hand tied guides.
