New Spinning Reel Question

Featured Replies

Might be a stupid question, but I plan on getting into some canoe/wade fishing for Smallies this year. I just bought an Avid ML spinning rod but have a question on reels. I know first hand the reel will be dunked in the water a lot from the wading. Should I just use my Shimano Stradics or buy a cheaper reel just for this application, maybe a Sedona??? Thanks for any help.

The Stradic 2500FI has a waterproof drag.

I think it's just what you need!

The Stradic 2500FI has a waterproof drag.

But the Graphite frame isn't. If the reel is going to be submerged that much, then be prepared to service it, multiple times over the season....
