Hello, Is there any manufacturer of NYLON monofilament line out there (usa, japan, others) producing a NYLON monofilament line significantly better than the rest for bass fishing? I want NYLON mono on about half of my rigs. I am not new to this game, but if there is a best out there, I have not found it. thanks, REBFLC

I 've tried many brands over the years and still return to these trusty trio:

Trilene XL,

Trilene XT

and Big Game

No nylon mono is "significantly" better than any other. Some have different characteristics than others. The ones that have the least memory are usually the ones with the smallest diameter, the least abrasion resistance and the most stretch. The larger diameter lines of the same pound test have the least stretch, most memory, and highest abrasion resistance. You have to decide which you are willing to give up to get the performance you want. A simple example is to compare Trilene XL and XT in the same pound test.

I have used Berkley Sensation 8 lb. for the last 5 years and I am very satisfied with it. I used to use trilene XL 8 lb but find the Sensation a little more abrasion resistant.

I agree with the opinion that there is no "best." Get the line with the properties that are most important to you.

Try some Sunline Defier, it is good stuff.

Nothing to talk about if you want NYLON monofilament.

If you want to try BETTER lines, fish copolymers: P-Line,

Gamma and Yo-Zuri Hybrid are what I would suggest.
