How do you properly rig a chunk trailer on a jig besides just putting the hook right through it?

This is more of a personal preference question. I aways thread my plastic chunks and craws up to the head putting the hook shank through the chunk. However, wen i rig a "pork Trailer" such as Uncles Josh's brand of chunks, i don't thread it. I just put the hook through the body and let it swing freely while the barb keeps it from coming off.

I also thread them on, less likely for the trailer to be able to spin on you and get in the way of the hook point. I do not use pork trailers anymore.I hated to take the time to wash the brine out before I used them. Washing the Pork trailer under hot tap water took the brine solution out and made the trailer softer, it looked more real when fished.I never reused the prok trailer, so its cheaper and easier to use plastic trailers. In my opinion, threading soft plastic chunks is the best method. I believe it enhances the durability (and maintainace) if you add a drop or three of super glue where the top of the chunk meets the "trailer holder" on the jig
