I have terrible luck pitchin a 1/4 oz jig + a trailer on 20 # test (line memory) has anyone used 14# line with little memory if so what brand (no Fluorcarbon too $)

how old is your line?  Any mono line will develop memory, some worse than others.  Try a fresh spool of your brand with some KVD L&L on it.  Or drop down one size to #17 and there should be a noticeable difference.  Drop a size and use KVD, you should see a huge difference.  I switched from #20 to #17 XT a while back and the difference (with no line conditioner) was big.

I use 20-25# fluoro for 1/4-3/8oz jigs with no issues! Even with STIFF BPS line!
