Help With Setups

Featured Replies

If there is a link to answer my question please someone let me know.

I am trying to get my rod (action and length), reel, and line setups correct.

I am trying to figure out the correct setup I need for each of these lures to fish:

1) Texas and Carolina Rig

2) Spinnerbaits

3) Jigs

4) Cranks

4) Topwater

Now I am sure that some of these you can fish with the same equipment but I just need some help figuring this all out.

Thanks for the help.

Team Diawa Pro reel, original falcon MH rod, many uses.

Jim Man when you say for example on the Spinnerbaits 15#line is the 15 the lbs test of the line that I should choose??

1) Texas and Carolina Rig-- 7' mh 10#line 6-1 reel

2) Spinnerbaits-- 6.5' mh 15#line 5-1 reel

3) Jigs-- 7' mh to h 30# braid 7-1 reel

4) Cranks-- 6.5' m 8-10# line 3.8-1 reel

4) Topwater-- 6' m 8-10# line 6-1 reel

Yup, the number before the # is the lb test.

Here's mine:

1) Texas and Carolina Rig - 7' 1" H/F 20lb fluoro 6:4:1 BC reel

2) Spinnerbaits - 7' MH/F Crankin' Stick 14lb mono 6:3:1 BC reel

3) Jigs - See (1)

4) Cranks - see (2)

4) Topwater - see(2)

Always going to be some variation in everything...
