LTB casting rod needed for worms 'n stuff. Which one?

Featured Replies

Hello all. I want to get a casting rod for use with worms and plastics, and I rather love my LTB spinning rod that I use for spinners, so I'd like to stay with St Croix. Most (like 99%) of my fishing is done from shore in small to medium ponds atm, so weeds and brush will be a factor. Can only budget for one of these just now, and plan to use a Shimano Curado reel (already have that, it was a gift) with the rod. Which of their rods would be best for this? I will likely use 12 pound mono, I have no experience with any of the braided lines. Their website kind of confuses me, I have no idea which of these rods would be best for this purpose. Thanks!

Depends on your style and what length rod you prefer.  Myself, I would choose between the 4C70MF or the 4C70MHF.  I personally prefer the MF better but others prefer the MHF.

You already have the LTB SP rod, you will probably not want to hear what I say but....

Personally I would scale back and use the 3C Avids. You'll not only save money but you will get just as sensitive of a worm/plastics rod.. 3C70MF & 3C70MHF

Just an old rod builders .02¢

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
