I am in the market for a good Senko rod for my wife.  She is 5'2" and currently uses a 6'6" Cara that she loves, but I want to step her up to a Loomis!  Our local bait shop has the MossyBack 7'3" H Carolina rod in stock as well as the IMX 7" H.  The price difference is not a problem, but the Loomis descriptions call their MossyBack 7'2" H (not in stock at the bait shop) their Senko rod.  The only difference I can see between the two MossyBacks is the handle length and overall length.  So should I buy the IMX, MB 7'3", or order the MB 7'2"?

Actually, I would order the BCR893.  This thing is the ultimate Senko Rod (in my humble opinion.)

How about a 7' Cara t7 split grip "head turner". If she likes the cara why go astray?

The BCR893 will be a little to big for her I think, the 7'2" is pushing it really.  The BCR874 that is at the tackle shop is only $220 (suprisingly), I think that if they order the BCR864 it will most likely be ~$280 (they are always high) so I can get a deal on the BCR874 that is why I was wondering if it will pass as a good Senko rod and be able to pick it up in a day or two instead of waiting. And BTW I am considering a T7 but I would like to treat her to the Loomis experience.

I used a MBR844 IMX as a senko and fluke rod for a long time... worked perfect for me but I don't use any of the smaller size senkos or flukes. It's an amazingly versatile rod that you can use for lots of techniques.

The BCR 874 is a Carolina rig rod which was designed to lob-cast heavy 1oz sinkers. Unless you are t-rigging senkos in really heavy cover I think that better tools exist. Depending on how impatient you are, I would either purchase the 844 (843 would be even better) or I would order the 864 if you are able to wait.

Let us know the exact fishing details (rigging and cover) and perhaps our suggestions would prove more accurate.
