Loomis SMR913S-SP Bronzeback Rod

Featured Replies

Anyone ever use this 7'7" rod?  I'm looking for a clear lake rod for smallies that will fish a 4" tube at long distances.  This rod will be used in the great lake areas and a few other places. A 7'1 rod just isnt long enough for what I'm using it for.  I'm needing to know if this rod has a good backbone and how it fishes tubes.

When it comes to fishing small jigs, worms or faux crawdad baits in deep water, there may not be a better choice. It's designed with extra, extra length for drift fishing deep ridge tops and points in big water. Drag a tube with this rod and you'll be in total control. If you need more weight to consistently keep your bait on the bottom, this is the rod you need.

I got some promising feedback about the 7'4 bronzeback rod awhile back. It sounded like exactly what you are looking for.

However if you need more weight maybe the longer rod is the way to go.

I'm going to try and find the 7'4 rod used. See signature. ;)

I've got a BSR852 that is really sweet for closer fishing.  But way out theres' it lacks length and hook set power.

Several guys, including Redlinerobert, HIGHLY

recommend the BCR894 for soft plastics.

However, since I prefer spinning tackle for

weightless soft plastics, my choice and overall

#1 favorite rod is the PR844S.
