Have one of the first Shimano® tooled Lews BB1.

Don't use it any longer all of my reels are now lefty, plus there are no parts available for the reels any longer.

Super reel when they were in production...

Tight Lines In The New Season!!

Yea im sure theres some, I got an uncle that only uses them, I think hes got at least one from all the makers, shimano, browning, ryobi? Ive tossed em few times and I dont see what all the fuss is about.  Although the older ones with the aint reverse button make for good flippin reels.

Rumor is someone new just bought the rights to start making these again.  Of course they'll be made at a different place then the old BB1N reels.

I have two sitting on the shelf. For sale ... great reels for the right fisherman. Just weren't for me. Bait monkey made me buy em.

I'ver got 2 BB25SS and they are workhorses. If you clean out the thick grease and replace with reel lube and oil they cast very well. Parts are hard to come by but they seldom break.

I have a Shimano Lew's Speed Spool BB-1 also.

I use it for deep cranks occasionally. The only part I have ever had to replace is the anti-reverse dog.

I've seen where the true Lew's fans have 30 or more of them. Some for parts but most for fishing.
