GLX vs St Croix

Featured Replies

Guys,

I am replacing all my rods, I like the features on St Croix tournament series but I want the most sensitive rod, which is the most sensitive.  These are all for bass fishing.

The GLX would be more sensitive, but for how much more expensive it is, it SHOULD be.

I fish five G. Loomis and six St. Croix (4 Avids,

2 Legend Elite). My suggestion is to buy the GLX

for bottom contact and Avids for "moving" lures.

My collection was built over a decade, so what

I have and my recommendation are not 100%

consistent. This is how I would roll if I were

starting from scratch.

If you can go with the GLX you will never have to wonder "what if" :)  and, when you look into more rods you'll have a great benchmark for comparisons.  ;)

GLX. If you shop around you can find them cheaper than the St. Croix.

So so true. I shopped around the last few weeks and got all of my glx rods for cheaper then top of the line st croix rods. They might not have the same cool handle as the st croix but im havin all my handles split by a rob builder anyways. The glx arent top heavy like the st croix and also hold way way more resale value. I also have a st croix avid and love it, might even get another one when I find a sweet deal on a used one.

wait, how are you finding such great deals on G Loomis rods if they hold way more resale value?  ;D Just because they probably sell larger quantities of GLX than LTB?

I can believe that GLXs can be had for less than $240 (price of a new Legend Tournament) on occasion but I do not believe that the same Legend Tournaments can't also be "shopped around for" and found for less...

I have purchased two GLX's at 240-250 range just have to search and be patient
