Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a new rod for my birthday next week and wanted to hear some opinions, I'm looking for a rod to fish jigs with and some texas rigged worms for around 200 dollars preferably. Any input is appreciated

I agree with the Powell Max but I would go for a 704c, it's a 7'H but fishes between MH-H, it's a great all around rod for single hooks.

Dobyns 734. Better to have a little more power then to be a little under powered. I prefer a 765 for jigs but I fish heavy cover and 3/4oz jigs a lot.

I was looking at the G loomis Imx's possibly too, they are a little out of my budget but if they are that much better than say a Shimano crucial or the Dobyns rod I might fork the cash out. Anyone have any experience with these? I do not want to slack on my jig pole so I want to get the most sensitive rod for the money.

I own two Loomis MBR844 IMX's and have been very impressed with them for many techniques including jigs.  Very sensitive rods.  If you watch the flea market, you can pick one up like new for under $200.

The Loomis MBR 844 IMX is a fine choice for sure.  I like the BCR series better for jig/worm fishing though.  I'd take a look at the Shimano Cumara as well - CUCX72MH - it's a very nice jig and worm rod and can be found under $200 in the flea market sometimes as well.  Lifetime over the counter warranty is hard to beat on the Cumara rods too!

I've kind of narrowed it down to getting one of the IMX's, A cumara, A crucial, or possibly one of the Dobyns rods because i have been hearing great things about them. Anyone else have any input?

If you've got a Cabelas close, go look there.  3 weeks ago, I was wandering the aisles in KCK and one of the floor helpers told me that they were closing out many of their high end rod categories - mostly their single product suppliers.

I got a couple of Kistler rods, $189 each last spring for $80 each.  And I got a few others at a similar discount.  Maybe you can go get two rods for your money.   Good luck.

As much as I enjoy using my 844 (GLX), it finds much more time as a rod for larger moving baits - big spinnerbaits, smaller swimbaits, etc.  If I had to pick a dedicated 1/2 oz. jig rod between an 844 IMX and a Cumara CUCX72MH, the Cumara would get my vote.  If we were talking GLX, then the Loomis would get my vote.

Appreciate all the responses everyone, I think i'm going to go with the Cumara probably, is the majority opinion that the CUC-x72MH would be better for what i'm looking for than the CUC-72MH? And would the medium heavy be enough to pull a bass out of some cover if i decided to pitch a jig with it too?
