Shaky Head ?

Featured Replies

Wondering what's been working best for you guys Shaky Head rigging? What jig, What plastic.

Thanks

 Joe

My favorite is any stand up jighead and a strike king 3X ribbontail or straight worm or any other 3X soft plastic. Since the worm floats it keeps moving long after you move the rig with your rod.

Jig: Spot Remover Pro Model

Plastic: Last season I did well with the Berkley Shaky Worm

This is my confidence bait.  I use a 1/4 oz spot remover (pro model) with a zoom finesse worm. See my avatar....3 1/2 lbs caught last Saturday on this bait.

Spot Remover Pro series with a Zoom finesse worm or when it gets brutal up here and 12" fish are hard to get Knuckleball jig with a Zoom Finesse worm cut down to 3.5".

The Shaky Head is something I plan on trying a lot this season coming. I'm a bit skeptical though; in that our bigger bodies of water contain a lot of grass on the bottom. Which is probably why I've done so well with the drop shot. Not sure if all the bottom junk will interfere with it? But I love learning new presentations so this is going to be one of my main focuses.

Jighead: undecided, still trying out new brands.

Bait: Roboworm 4.5 inch strait tail, "Bold Bluegill" or "Warmouth".

You might give these a try: 5" Berkley Powerbait Shaky Worm in any dark color (powerbait not gulp).

They're very meaty for a finesse worm but have nice undulating action.

Joeyd50, yes the RoboWorms do float ;).

Thank You

1/8 oz strike king jighead with a zoom motor oil finesse worm

(powerbait not gulp).

Why?

I just don't think it's necessary to tolerate the stench they give off.

When Gulp baits are in the boat, I find myself scanning the lake shore for a sewage treatment plant :;) ;D

3/32 oz Picasso Shakedown with a 4.5 Roboworm straight tail in black grape or aaron's magic or zoom finesse worms in green pumpkin or watermelon candy. I'll move up to a 1/8 if i'm deeper then 12ft.

we have been using bite me jig heads and zoom finesse worms. green pumpkin was the hot color all year long. i also was dipping the jig heads in black fingernail polish, not sure if that helps.
