Okay, I made a stop at dicks recently after a long week of work (when im not able to fish in awhile I get this strong urge to buy new fishing equipment, don't know why) I bought myself some new baits including a Booyah baby Boo Jig 3/16 oz Watermelon red. I also bought a pack of Zoom Small Salty Chunk Castaic Choice in green pumpkin <--- thats what it reads  :-?. I bought these because I figured I would need a trailer to fish with the jig. Now I never fished a jig but I have seen videos so I have a decent idea on how to fish em. Ive read some posts about jig-n-pigs being a good choice in the cold water but is this green type color I bought going to work in this weather? Im thinking not because it kinda imitates a frog in my opinion, and since its winter im guessing only white/black jigs are the most popular. Did I buy a good jig combo? Can I fish this in coldwater even with the green type color?

Fish it in clear to stained water it should work fine.

I agree, the color will work fine .I really like the Zoom super chunk jr trailers better, but the salty chunks will work . Ivan

Yeah I was looking at other chunks like the Super Chunk Jr, but to me that gives off the appearance of a crawfish, and since there aren't any crawfish in the lakes im fishing I didn't bother with it. Although I guess bass will hit anything that looks edible, so maybe Ill try em out sometime.

All i can say in my honest opinion is get the natural colors for jigs, like a few blue and black, some white, some green and you should be set, as far as what the guiys have said many times i believe its true.. when learning a new technique with a hard lure such as the jig n pig, take that rod out only and use it all day and just that, im bad and havent done it like that and have switched over to any other setup i had in the boat at the time, good luck bassfishingmachine

Just use the same colors for jigs as you do in other soft plastics like tubes? Once I quit using black/blue jigs and started using brownish natural colored jigs my catch rates went up.

Their plastic, and i don't think there scented.

I do not think they have salt but the package says "better than salt" on a lot of my Zoom stuff. Green pumkin super chunk jr is my #1 trailer of all time.

As I understand it, salt is one of the ingredients used to manufacture soft plastic baits.  Having salt in the formula causes the bait to sink slower and also gives it a more appetizing taste to the fish.  "Better than salt" is probably some other chemical or compound that would take the place of the salt but have the same effect.

Every living creature has salt in their blood   8-)

If you find a soft plastic lure that works than try a jig in that color.

This shold work fine in cear water with a slow presenation.
