floro line or leaders?

Featured Replies

Whats the diff in a spool of 12lb floro and a spool of 12lb floro leader material , other than the length?

Please help the less informed be more informed.

Leader line is a different formula.

It is generally stiffer and more

abrasion resistant.

Its also extruded with more precision.  A reel fill spool lists the "average diameter and line strength."  Leader material is often IGFA certified and diameter and break strength more precise.

so...should I be buying a spool of leader material, or will Trilene 100% be just as good for bass.

I would consider another brand, IF you plan on using fluro...I use 12lb 100% for mainline, and as a leader. IMHO, that line breaks to easy, say compared to 12 Yozuri hybrid ultrasoft..also the abbrasion resistance sux..your mileage may vary..
