Greetings. Looking for a new spinning rod to go with a daiwa exceler 2500 reel for fishing zoom super flukes. Thought I'd seek the advice of the best on the net. Have looked at 6'6 & 7'0 M St. Croix Avids, Premieres, Shimano compres, fenwick HMG & others & am still undecided. Suggestions? Thanks.

Brand aside, I'd look for something 7' Med or even ML with a fast action.

Personally, I fish flukes with the rod tip down most of the time, and I find a 7ft rod a bit too long for that.  But 6'8" works really well for casting distance, hook setting power and comfort for me.

I have the Kistler Carbon Steel that I use for weightless worms and it works good for this. Very light and sensitive and is 6'-9" long / medium.

I'd go with a 6'6" MH.  Flukes aren't light, and with the right line (I'd say 15-20lb braid) you should be able to bomb them out there. 

Plus the MH will make setting the hook a breeze, and let you fish the fluke in between pads without fear of getting hung up.

I have this rod in the Legend Tournament series and it is a very good action for Flukes and soft plastics. I also like to fish Rapalas with it.

I have this rod in the Legend Tournament series too. I use it for Flukes will good success. I like it for tubes and wacky rigging too.

I use a 7' 6" ML/F spinning outfit.  Delaware Valley Tackle's suggestion is a good one.
