Looking to get a new reel to put on a froggin rod. any suggestions?

2 that come to mind are:

Daiwa Zillion 100SHA

Shimano Curado 200E7

2 great reels.

REVO has all the drag power you could ever need.

Faster is better. I personally use the $50 Daiwa Strikeforce with ReelGrips on my frog rod, and I have no desire to upgrade. The reel is a good value and has all the drag you need. I tighten it down all the way and have yet to have it slip. All you're doing is picking up slack with the reel when fishing frogs. Most of the action is imparted with the rod, so there's no need to dish out big bucks on a super smooth reel. The rod is much more important with frogging than the reel. This is the one combo where I am fine with having a cheaper reel on a nice rod.

Save the money to put towards a Curado or STX for your next technique specific setup, where having an excellent reel might actually benefit you.

I use a Shimano Core 100MgFV.  Just a great reel for any application the deals with heavy cover.

i use a revo s ($129) on my frog rod since i dont throw a frog that often plus it has i think 24lbs of drag to pull whatever through the slope. the core 100MgFv is awesome to i have one on my flippin rod but thats if you wana spend $379 for a frog set up

How much are you willing to spend? Soft-plastic "buzz-frogs" or hard bodied frogs?

A lot of torque and drag pressure is an added plus on a quality froggin' reel. Since fish are going to get you in the "jungle" you'll need a reel with enough drag pressure to get them out.

This is the only application that I'd recommend any Revo over a same priced Shimano or Daiwa. The Revo S coming in at $129 has 24lbs (TWENTY-FOUR!) of drag pressure which would make it excellent for fishing the tough stuff.

Curado 200E7 would be a great choice too, but I favor the Revo's 24lbs of drag for the thick-stuff.

I prefer my calcutta 200 gtb.  It has decent drag, loads of torque and having a big solid aluminum frame, i don't feel so bad yanking hogs out of lily pads with 70 lb. braid
