How many rods?

I use 5, switching presentations on one or two of them as the need dictates. This would have been a great poll thread!  :)

When I'm shore fishing, 3: 1 spinning, 1 treble hook casting, and one single hook casting rod.  When I'm on a boat, 6: 2 spinning and 4 casting.

In a boat I will usually have 3 or 4. Walking the bank I will have 2 or 3.

4, I fish in a kayak and more than that just get in the way. Usually not the same 4, it is based on where I am fishing and what baits I am throwing.

I've found that having any more than three in the 'yak at any given time just cuases more aggravation than anything else.

I fish out of a kayak a lot. I agree that any more than 3 rods in the boat at once is very unmanageable.

10-12 all together, with 5 or 6 on the deck.

3-5 depending on whether it's just a finesse day or if I can throw some heavier tackle with the baitcasters.

4.

Flippin'

Spinnerbait

Topwater

Weightless plastics

5 and I can do everything I want to do except deep cranking.

3 bait casters and 2 spinning.

Depends on the time of year, anywhere from 2-7 usually.

3 casting and 2 spinning.  sometimes 3/3.  any more than that and i worry about stepping on one ;D  or my fishing buddies stepping on one!

3 casting and 2 spinning on deck usually, with a couple more in the box. My wife often fishes with me, and she will have 2 more casting in back.

I have a small boat, so usually 3 - 5. If I had a bigger boat I would bring about twice that many.

12-15 depending on time of year and type of lake. I have dedicated rods for ...

Carolina Rig

3 Different Cranking rods, various line action combos

1 6'9" Spinning combo with floro in the spring, then Yozuri Hybrid in the summer for jerkbaits, small/ light cranks, floating Rapala's

1 spinning rod with a Mojo Rig set-up

1 Spinning Shaky Head Rod

1 Jig Rod/ 10" Worm Rod Heavy Action

1 Small Jig/ light line rod

1 Topwater Rod

1 Spinnerbait Rod

1 Spinning Rod with 6 lb Floro for Wacky Rigs and other finnesse set-ups

1 Drop Shot Rod

2 MH All Purpose rods for Texas Rigs etc

1 Frog Rod

2 Heavy weight rods for fishing plastics in mats set-up with 2 different sinker sizes

1 MH Spinning with braid for Trick Worms/ Thin Senko's etc

All Baitcast reels are Shimano, eventually all my spinning reels will be as well. I have extra back-up rod/reels for any rods / reels that have issues that I can use until the problem is fixed.

I don't usually sell my old rods reels anymore as they are on stand-by if needed. I probably have app. 15 rods that I'm not currently using.
