I have never used Lucky Craft line, But, I can suggest Sufix Seige 17# as it has performed well for me on topwater.

Edit: I recommend 17# because the more surface of it on the water the better it floats

Nope. Sufix Siege or Trilene XT in 10lb for Pop-R's, 17lb for Spooks, and 14lb for both.

Make sure to treat it with KVD line and lure because I find it to be non slick on the cast, thus creating friction with your thumb, limiting distance.

braid for topwater, only way to set the hook on those long cast's with spooks.

I use mono for all topwater applications except frogs, for which I use 50 pound power pro. I use 10 - 12 pound mono for poppers and prop baits, and 12 - 17 pound test for dog walkers. Smaller buzzbaits I use 12 pound, bigger I like a minimum of 14 pound. Original Stren is my line choice.

I use 8# & 10# mono for topwater...  I have been using Cortland Camoflauge line for years with great success! It is super cheap and very strong and managable. Being it is so cheap I try to change line a few times a year.

PS Also a huge fan of KVD Line & Lure!
