Featured Replies

I heard a rumor at a large ,well known outdoor store that a CORE size CURADO is going to be introduced at the ICAST show. Anyone else her any thing about this ?

he's probably referring to cal over at tackletour speculating that shimano may bring over their JDM scorpion 1000/1001 XT which is basically an alumimnum-framed core 50/51 MG.

Nope, I'm in St. Louis. But that is a possibility.

The aluminum model Core in a Curado is what I'm thinking is coming.Kinda like the Chronarch MG and the Curado 100D

I wish they would make a regular size Curado with a gear ratio in between the two they already have.

Easy enough to purchase a 200E7 or 5, purchase Citica E gearing and replace.

Not for us southpaws.

Apparently Shimano shares your sentiments.

Genetic defects aren't their problem.   :)

When you put it that way, I guess we do have a drinking problem 'round here.  ;D  Still no reason for Shimano to discriminate against alcoholic babies.

hope it comes in 7 to 1 soon. i guess the core 7to1 gears would work in it.

There's 3" of IPT difference between the 6.4:1 Curado 50 and the 7.01:1 Core 50.

You know what WOULD be great? A high end Shimano LP reel that has a decent amount of line capacity.

How much line do you need?

More than 90 yards of 12lb test. I want something I can put a lot of 15-17lb test on.

I've never needed more line than what I can fit on my Core 50.  And I use 17 lb. fluorocarbon on it.

I agree Dan.  I don't flip, and I rarely pitch; most of my fishing is comprised of making long casts off of our dock.

What are you using it for?

my opinion is to buy a Revo Premier , same or slightly lighter reel with all the line capacity you need , plus it is not fugly green !!! ;D 8-)

plus the new Premiers are gonna have a 7.1 gearing !!!
