Excellent article! Well-researched, and told from a personal perspective.  Thanks for sharing this treasure!  It has certainly made it easier to quantify what it is that makes a certain lipless crank more successful at any given time.  Cudos to you for bringing this to the Boards...this is EXACTLY why I joined this Board in the first place...to learn this kind of stuff
