Anyone use this line and like it? Picked up a spool of 10# for my crankin outfit and gonna give it a try for the first time tomorrow.

Does FC really help a crank get down deeper? How much deeper?

Couple inches to maybe a foot or two. And i've heard bad things about Vicious. I would get some AbrazX 10# instead.

Yes, fc will make you run deeper. There are far too many variables to know exactly but I would say you can get a couple of feet deeper.

I have not used Vicious myself but have heard it's pretty good fc for the money. I checked into it and what turned me off was the diameter to test ratio. It's a little too big for me.

X2 on the Seaguar Abrazx or Invizx...good stuff man

I have never had breaking issues, knot issues, or casting issues. The usage seems very good.

It does seem thicker than some others though. I'm using 12#.

Well, I think there are better options. On the cheap side,

Trilene 100% is okay (3rd generation Vanish). I have been

impressed with Seaguar InvizX #8 on spinning tackle, AbrazX

#12 on baitcasting gear.

yeah that's what i thought and i was wrong,wrong,wrong.......I haven't tried the "new and improved" version of vicious if they really did improve the line or not.They pretty much lost any business with me as of right now.When something fails that bad on me i tend not to try it again.

My line split on me like a banana peel 10-20 feet from the hook...never seen a line do that before.It caught my eye when i was reeling it in i notice a weird split in the line.

I tried it, and it really is the toughest stuff in the world.  I found it almost impossible to manage on the reel though.

I was given a spool of 10# Viscious floro early last year and put in two of my baitcasters.  I fished all year with it throwing worms and crankbaits and I liked it a great deal.  Never any problems.

my advice is to buy the best line you can . i started to use Toray flouro and now i will and don't want to ever go back to cheaper lines ( i mean quality not necessarily price wise ) , these top-end lines last longer and are more consistent in their characteristics such as strength , visibility , and manageability. it is a lesson in learning

I must of have used that 1st generation, I thought the line was horrible. I usually use BPS on my baitcasters. I like Trilene 100% for spinning rods, that said I tried Suffix Floro this year and I am very impressed. This line is comparable to most Mono in terms of manageability after I stretched it by pulling it behind the boat and applying KVD line conditioner and it's very strong and sensitive as well.

It's definitely not my favorite FC, but for that price point it's the best I've used. I haven't had any problems with it. I just don't think it handles quite as nice as Berkley 100%, Seaguar, or Sun Line. You're also paying up to 3 times as much so that's to be expected.

I do not like Viscious at all, but a spool and spooled it onto my reel, just a waste, totally twisted up like nothing

I've tried Vicious once and won't use it again.  Maybe I got a bad spool.  That stuff broke so easily it wasn't even funny.  I've been much happier paying an extra couple of dollars for XPS Fluoro or Seaguar.  Much better lines IMHO.

You can't really beat this line in my opinion especially for the price. 

I haven't tried the "new" version but the original was possibly the worst line I've ever used during almost 40 years of fishing!

I was hoping it was going to be good since it was made in the USA and reasonably priced, but was sadly disappointed.  I prefer Seagaur InvisX.  P-line FC is good too but not as managable as InvisX.  I don't hate Trilene 100% if its all that's available and I have to have FC.

I have used it this whole fishing season on my worm rod. I use KVD line and lure conditioner and have had no handling problems with the line. I would have no problem using it again.

I am using it on my worm rod and have had no problems with it.....it is a little stiff, but has good sensitivity.

I also put some 8lb on my spinning rod and took it off the next day........way to stiff and stayed twisted.

I think I'll spend a little more money next time and then decide if the line is a deal or just cheap.

I wasn't a fan of it at all. I got it for cranking around wood and got the 12#... horrible.
