Shimano CU-200 B5

Featured Replies

I have a older green Curado CU-200 I got used. Hasn't had much use as the guy owned it thought there was something wrong with it and come to find out, there were no brakes set and he didn't know it had any. But anyway, it doesn't cast nearly as far as my newer Curados, even after cleaning and lubing. Do you think that is normal? Have Curado's advanced that much?

I'd expect the newer Curado to be a little smoother, but max casting distance should be similar. To check you need to use the same rod, line and lure to get an accurate assessment. Was the reel cleaned professionally? you may want to consider that if not. These reels respond exceptionally well to tuning also.

I may send it in to you for cleaning and tune up in the next month or so. Thanks for the reply.

Pro tuning service has turned all of my green Curado 200B's into super casting reels,

some even out casting NEW E series Curado's...

Tight Lines!

Hmmmm, not really, my old B series Curados cast as far and as a well as the E series.
