Does anyone know why they stopped making these baitcasting reels?

Daiwa had a brain fart? :-?

I'd like to know also.

fuego's end of 09, sols just kinda gradually faded out but summer 10 if i had to put a time on it. i could be wrong though. but yah dont know why they discontinued them, guess they want you to buy zillions.

I was really hoping for a redesigned sol...possibly along the lines of the PX68.

here I go passing rumors again...Rumor is, Diawa is putting alot of time and investment into their saltwater division. I don't know if that has to do with cutting these reels out tho.But the diawa fans were disappointed at I-cast?

Because they were never really popular, that 's why.

I don 't have Sols, I have Alphas, I really like the size, shape, design but as much as I like them there 's still a couple of things about the line that bugs me, no clicking drag star and relatively slow, besides the Sol/Alphas/Pixy line is a little bit on the specialized side ---> light lure application

The Fuego, man after the TDZ a Fuego ? the Fuego always had the ghost of the TDZ at it 's back, besides they created the Zillion, a much better reel for about the same price, not saying the Fuego is a bad reel, just saying the Zillion is a much better reel.

Are you kidding?  I see a TON of both of these reels both on the water, and going out for cleanings.  I'd say combined, close to what you see in Curados.  Def. more than Revos.

I hope they re-do the SOL/Pixy/Alphas line.
