Hey well I just recently joined this forum and thought i'd start out by asking a question.  Well see, I live in the upper midwest and been sufferin from fishin withdraw for about 7 months now.  So I was thinkin about headin out in about two weeks, probably when the waters around here start defrosting alittle...  I was thinkin about fishin one of my buddies pond, which at the deepest its about 40ft and thats smack dab in the middle.  So any season veterans out their know whats a hot wintertime bass tactic?  Couple people said using deep diving jerkbaits, or a jig n pig.  What about dropshotting finesse?  Also some say crankin but I tend to lean that might be alittle to fast.

I live around Memphis, TN. Winter fishing in the ponds here has been brutal. You are probably just going to have to wait until things warm up a bit. If you decide to go now anyway, Rat-L-Traps seem to be the best option right now.

Welcome to the BR forum DeBassin619!!  Where in the midwest do you live?? Water around the So CA area is in the 57-58 degree range and tubes and senkos fished SLOW are starting to produce. I'm gonna take RW's advice and try some Fat Ika's next time out. Again, welcome to the BR forum!!!

What to throw?

I agree with the Rat-L-Traps and anything big fished slow, like a creature bait or the Fat Ika's.

Just fish slow and dress warm.

Drop shot with a 3" power worm has worked for my on 2 outings so far this year.

There is NO way I could go on a 7 month stand without fishing.

lolz....ahahahah naw....This past deer season kept me from headin down that road...funny how things work...one of kind of season ends and another one picks up.. But thanks for all who contributed....still don't know quite yet whats my game plan for March.  Might have to pick up some senkos and some of these creature baits i've been hearin about from other posts.. but if anyone wants to add some for tips...your more than welcomed!!!
