Hey let me know how you like it! Im reallh interested in the avid x series

Impulse buy at the tackle shop tonight.  Saw the rod when I walked in the door and picked it up fell in love with it and had to pick a reel up to fit it and it balances perfectly.  7'2" Med. xFast Shimano Crucial and a Shimano Stradic FJ 2500 and spooled it with 10b yo zuri hybrid.

I will post a pic of this years arsenal shortly.

It's the 7' 2 piece ml/f

I had it out for a bit yesterday and caught a 2ish lmb with a weightless 3" senko. I'd say it's definitely true to its rating unlike the other Croix rods I've had in the past. Soft tip with just enough backbone.

The micro guides handled 20lb powerpro with a 6lb leader just fine. Sensitivity is up there with my recon or better.

Finish is also excellent with no excess epoxy and the guides straight.

Overall an excellent rod and worth its price imo.

New additions: Two Chronarch 100D7! Best Shimano reel ever made IMO!image.thumb.jpeg.2fc4edae9f55fec6ef94044

Newest addition to the collection. Has a great balancing point for a $100 7'5" rod.

Perfect example of why you don't always need the lightest reel possible. Congrats on the pickup.

Is that a split grip rod?  That is quite balanced.

Yes it is. It has a long butt section so that helps a lot

Bass Raider,

How do you like those Fiber rods? What is the taper like?

I really like it so far. Haven't fished it much but imo it is "the" 1/2oz jig rod. I got the 754 and I would call it a mod-fast. Irod claims that the same blank they use on their genesis 2 rods they use for the fibers too but for some reason it just doesn't feel quite as sensitive as my gen2's. Probably due to fewer guides. It is just as sensitive as my micro magic pro though.

My one and only rod and reel

Rods a 6'6 mh made by rhino and the reel is an srbc-100. Garage sale deal got it for 20 bucks.  Been bass fishing seriously for about a month and landed a couple over 2lb on it

Added these this month.

How do you like the Zodias?

I've been debating getting the 6'10" MH or another Levante or shelling out for the Shimano Jackall Poison Adrena. Even if you haven't fished it I'm interested in how it feels and the action/taper. How's the balance with the Chronarch Ci4+? That's the reel I would be putting on also.

Booty I dig the machine or robotic appearance of those handles and knobs. How do they feel in terms of comfort, especially fishing for extened periods of time?

The handle is very well made, The knobs are smooth and feel good. I havent fished it as Ive only gotten it yesterday.

If you had picked one up then I promise you wouldn't hesitate. I do not have a 6'10 MH but here are balance points on a 7'2MH, 6"10M and a 7'2M respectively with no line on the reel. The spinning rods and the Stradic Ci4s are perfect. Metaniums on these would be perfect. Honestly these are the best bang for the buck rods on the market in my opinion. Look around and you can find good deals or ask around for prostaffs from last year. I got mine for 75USD each and I just couldn't pass it up. They are as light and sensitive as rods 3 times their msrp but they don't have specific tapers for different applications. They are made to be very versatile for a wide range of applications. Sensitive but great backbone yet you can really really feel the fight and pulls from the fish. Everyone notices that the most after how light they are. I have only used the spinning cause I had only one Zodias for the last week of the season but was so impressed that I bought 6 more on that crazy deal after feeling 4 pound smallies tugging on my first rod. Favorite rods I've ever owned. That being said I drool over Poison Adrenas, Poison Glorious and Poison Ultima on a daily basis but just can't justify spending 3-8 times more on those than I did on my Zodias. They are definitely NOT close to 3-8 times better rods. They are in another league than Gloomis E6X and wasn't blown away with the NRX in one hand and a Zodias for 1/3 the msrp in the other...and I paid 1/8th and NRX here in Canada...no brainer. I'm gonna keep this Ci4 Chronarch for my 6'10 ML but plan on getting JDM Metaniums for my other 3. Same price as USDM Chronarch Ci4s.

Thank you for the thorough reply and pics. You just made my decision harder, since I had almost checked the Zodias off my list. I bought a Levante Perfect Pitch to be my new flippin/froggin rod, the smoothest, most well balanced rod I've ever owned. I was going to check off the Adrena also, but I found that JLS has it for 280 bucks, so I've been moving back in that direction. Never a bad thing to have some options, either way I'll have an awesome new setup to pull in some hogs next season. Thanks again for the detailed reply! Try and stay warm up there in Canada! I'm in Michigan so I feel some of your pain.

Still chipping away with reels for the 7 Zodias I just got in the off season.

12546295_10153380015888526_256337552_o.jpg

I bought the reel about a month or two ago. The rod came in a few weeks ago - arrived days after ordering. The reel has already seen the master Ian (although I just learned about super tuning not too long ago) and has upgraded gear ratio to 6.3 as well as drag and bearings. This combo will be my go to shallow cranking rod - Mann's 1-, MB 1.2, LC 1.5, you get the idea. Was a little worried about its ability to handle the lower end (1/4oz), but it threw a Mann's 1- plenty far in the yard. Few months and the on the water test will tell. I'll most likely spool it with 12lb sniper.

I have a Core 100 and a 50 - I love mine, they are really nice reels.
