conserverebel
Not heard much about Lake Fork, not even from some of the guides. Anyone know how the fishing is right now. Was there back in October and it was very, slow. The Fishing Reports about Fork have been vague to say the least. Must still be slow!!! Super User roadwarrior Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Share Posted December 16, 2008 Tom posts his fishing report here every month: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1228416363/0#
conserverebel
Yes, I read Tom's report, but even his have been a bit vague. Thanks for the info.
Super User Long Mike Posted December 17, 2008 Super User Share Posted December 17, 2008 I'll narrow it right down for you. It's Lake Fork. This time of year, be prepared for everything.
Super User Catt Posted December 17, 2008 Super User Share Posted December 17, 2008 Huh Tom's reports vague? :-? Dude that is the most detailed report you will read by any angler world wide, the only thing he didn't give is GPS locations. I'll explain it for you Seasonal Pattern: Pre-Spawn; means bass are susceptible to weather changes & will move up during warming trends & back off during cold fronts. Location Patterns: Points, grass flats, and creek channel bends near spawning areas; self explanatory Lure Pattern: Spinner baits, jigs, and lipless crank baits; fish these baits in those locations
conserverebel
Sorry if I offended. Certainly did not mean to do that!!!!! I know the breakdown that Tom and others give, but have learned to read between the lines in certain instances. Long Mike probably summed it up best!!! mattm
I've heard it has been a little slow. Thats probably b/c a lot of fish are really deep right now. If you can find some though it could be on they bunch up more this time of year in similar size.
Super User Catt Posted December 18, 2008 Super User Share Posted December 18, 2008 One must keep in mind that any fishing report is nothing more than a history lesson

Tom_Redington
It was a warmer than normal fall for a long time. Early fall fishing was really good, then got really slow, then cooled off quickly and was really good again for a short bit. Now it's up and down with the fronts. Overall, slower than normal fall in my opinion. Fall is great for numbers of smaller fish normally, but I'm glad the early prespawn is right around the corner. I spent all day today taking all of my deepwater and finesse gear out of the boat and am ready for the Jan-Mar prespawn all KVD all the time. I'll have to put more senkos and light line and finesse back in the boat once they start spawning in early Mar, until then, it's power fishing time for toads. Favorite time of the year for me and I'll be on the water pretty much 6 days a week for the next 7 or 8 months now, expect for tourneys. Can't wait!!
