Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Sweet. No points this year eh? Interesting.

Last year boaters and non boaters were completely separate, which isn't the case this year. No sense in points when there are only 12 boats in the group.

Can't catch a fish to save my life lately. It could be pretty ugly for us unless you're carrying us.

Says the guy who stuck a donkey today! lol

That was 1 of the 2 fish I caught today though. Doesn't to do any good to catch a pig when you don't follow it up with anything.

Haha.  Carelessness is covered!  I am not insurance anymore.  That 5 year chapter of my life is over.

Don't worry about it.  I don't need the pole anyways, I feel like I looked into the warranty claim last year and was not excited about the money I would need to spend to replace it.  And I believe I shut a boat compartment door on it.

You don't need another mojo? I'd send it in with Ryan and gamble the $17.50 on getting a new mojo.  All I'm saying as they were so cool to deal with, they might just turn around and send you a new mojo.

Heck, I'll send it in if you don't want too. lol. I'll gamble.

Somebody just let me know, sending it in soon.

If I have to write a note about me breaking it, then what's the point? I mean I guess it's a mojo for $55. I am not willing to lie about it to come out $37 richer, that seems the same as stealing to me.

I agree with you. And like you said it's a mojo for $55 (actually a new model).

I'm going to have a noob in the boat with me this Saturday and would really like for him to catch some fish.  I was thinking about hitting up Prairie Lee Lake, as it typically has good numbers, has anyone been there recently?  Any other suggestions would also be appreciated.  Thanks.

Not sure many of us here fish Prairie Lee, but they should be biting.  Good luck!

I have only fished it once, from the bank. No fish were caught. I'd love to here the some results though as it is pretty close to where I live. Good luck!

Had my first guide trip of the season at Melvern on Saturday. Put in after Backlashers and KS Buddy Bass did. Winds were already blowing close to 20 by 8am. My client was a kid I'd taken out last summer from Winfield, KS who this time was needing help pre-fishing and getting to know Melvern for one of his high school tournament in May. Good kid, knew what he was doing which made things pretty easy. I set him up at the bow and moved my foot control to the back of the boat. I had him throwing a jerkbait most of the day which worked to his benefit. Most of the time I was dragging a tube off the back of the boat. Was able to make a TC run after the winds had shifted a little bit. We probably caught close to to 40 fish for the day. I lost the biggest Smallmouth I've ever been hooked up with right under the boat in Eisenhower, and later on in the day he also lost one in between the 4-5# mark on a jerkbait in Eisenhower as well. It went to make its first jump, saw the size of it's head and before you know it the jerkbait came shooting back to the boat. Got him hooked up with his biggest Walleye on a jerkbait on the dam at the beginning of the day as well. I also caught two good Spots which was cool-haven't had one at vern for a while, both on a tube (I didn't throw a moving bait hardly at all to give him those bites). Gave him the tube in TC to get the hang of that bite and didn't take him long. Was a good day despite the winds and pressure of two tournaments. Keith and I will be there next Sunday for our first EKB event.

Went to Melvern Sunday. Immediately went up Turkey Creek and caught four solid 2+ smallies  right off the bat. Then decided to explore the west end of the lake. Scouted some areas but did not catch anything but drum and white bass. During that hour, the wind came up, almost straight from the west.  The ride back to Eisenhower was brutal- first (and second) time I've ever taken water over the front of the Javelin. Caught one in Eisenhower west and then trailered the boat to Eisenhower east where I caught four more solid but unimpressive smallmouth, a short spot and a couple dink larries. Lipless crank, shad rap and the Ned were all that worked. Spent the rest of the day fixing everything that rattled loose on the boat. A day I'd rather forget.

Went back today and did a little better. Only one approaching three, though. My first area  yielded several quick fish on a one knocker lipless crankbait. After that flurry, I couldn't find any aggressive fish. I finally got a little bit of a tube bite going by rigging it on a mushroom head on the outside instead of inserting a head or T-rigging it. Then it was drag and deadstick time.  Right brefore I left, I marked a ton of fish in 5-7 feet of water way up Eisenhower east. Threw everything in the box before catching a few white bass on a Roadrunner with a 2" paddle tail.

Cut the trip short to try Osage County State fishing lake where they are apparently celebrating dink fest. Water temp was 55 to 57. Caught a few on a spinnerbait before I started really catching them burning a bluegill colored trap. Not a keeper among them, though. Neat little lake.

Hope you stopped and washed your boat before you went to Osage.

There's big fish in that lake, it just seems like they're either 10 inches, or 3+ pounds, not a lot of in between fish in that lake.

Nicole and I got out to DOCO Saturday and caught some g-g-g-g-giant bass! I did actually catch a 2+ pounder, which is my biggest DOCO bass in a couple years. The fish buoy was loaded with little jig munchers.

Indeed I did, sir-- at the little car wash in Lyndon. I didn't have any spray bleach to hit the bilge or livewell, though. I kept the main power off at Osage to make sure the auto bilge didn't puke in the lake.

When I was in college I picked up a hitchhiker in Topeka on my way back to Kansas City. Tried to sell me Amway the entire ride. Right then and there I vowed to never pick up a hitchhiker again. Not even aquatic nuisance species.
