Anyone have a good spot for large eating size bluegill, or green sunfish they don't mind sharing.  Been having a craving for some fried bluegill and would sure like to have about 8-10 good eating sized.

Come with me out to Linn Valley and I will put you on more big bluegill and green sunfish than you know what to do with.

Had a couple good days in a row this weekend finally. Wednesday was supposed to be a day spend chasing channel cats in the kayak at Pleasanton East. After spending over an hour trying to catch a single bluegill, I was about done with the place. I finally resorted to chasing grasshoppers around, catching bait to catch bait, and caught half a dozen palm sized bluegills in short order. Of course, after all that, I couldn't get the catfish to cooperate. I landed one very healthy 8-10 pound channel that was a lot of fun from the kayak as it drug me all over, but I was hoping for way more than that. Decided to try a place I haven't fished in a few years, Linn County strip pit. I was really disappointed to see trotlines and limblines strung everywhere. The quality bass that used to be prevalent there seemed to be nowhere to be found. I caught a few dinks, and one little channel cat that had somehow avoided the maze of setlines. I was paddling back, frustrated with the meat hunters when I decided to hit a little offshoot of the main pit. It never produces for me, but it's about impossible to get into from anything bigger than a kayak, so I thought I'd give it a quick look. Pitched a few laydowns with a jig before I dropped it in the middle of the nastiest looking one. Line jumped almost immediately and a 4.23 pound fish was in the yak. For some reason my remote and Virb weren't clicking with each other so I got nothing other than an arms length picture of the fish that make it look like a 2 pounder, so I left it out. Happy with that fish, I decided to jump back to Pleasanton West and see if anything was going on. Caught a fat 2.5 pounder right off the ramp, then I fished half the lake before I caught another fish. Of course it was a 3.36 pounder so it was alright. Caught a few and missed a few more before I headed home, satisfied to have at least caught a couple nice ones.

Thursday I headed to Cedar Valley, hoping to try to expand on what Chris had shown me last week. I started with a buzzbait, and really wore them out with it. One of those rare CV days where I not only caught some good ones, but I caught a bunch of fish too. I also lost a 5-6 pound fish on a dock cable, another 5lb class fish to a poor net job, and a giant I'm not going to guesstimate but you can see the explosion in the video, and I got a good look at it, she was huge. Bad thing is, I lost a really heavy fish off the same stump last week with Chris. My biggest 5 went 20 pounds 5 ounces. Buzzbait, spinnerbait, wobbler, and beaver were all I needed.

Most any Wednesday/Thursday/Friday right now. I fish solo a lot due to my schedule but the invitation is always open for someone to jump in with me.

It's a private lake you have to live in Raintree to put your boat in the water.

Fished Prairie Lee from 8-noon today. Marked shad at about 12 feet and started fishing main lake channel swings and and brush in the 10-15' range. I caught 6 at 15" before 10am and an 18" that came off a power shot beaver on a ledge adjacent to a point. After 10 I went shallow to see if fish were moving in either the water willows or the stick ups. I did not find very many fish shallow and what I did find lacked size.

Water clarity was between one and two feet and the temperatures I found were consistently around 79.

Fished out there Friday night, first night out there.  Only got 1 1/2 hours in before the storm got there. Was able to put a 4lber in the boat.

It was our best bag in two years of BR weeknights. Crazy to think!

@awohlwend and I hit gardner last night.  Had some trailer issues that I needed to get resolved before the weekend.  Water was more mossy then what it was last week.  We caught several, most of shakey heads on the deep dock bank.  Biggest was around 2.5 lbs.  Hoping to get into some bigger fish this weeknd SOMEWHERE

Raymond loaned it to Adam, who loaned it to me. It's a huge bait, way bigger than a Pompadour. I'm willing to overlook what it is because of the size (4.5" and 1.3oz versus 3" and 3/4oz of the full size Pomp). No way I'd shell out for the $50 price tag though.

Yeah, was at Mondo last week and saw that bait laying on his desk. Kinda like the 130 or the 190 Plopper compared to the 90. 

Hit Wolf Creek yesterday from dawn till about 3 chasing smallies with the girlfriend. Started with throwing tops against the intake jetty without any action. Locating better fish took a bit, but we did end up finding fish up to 18.5" (along with catfish and drum) on windblown hard bottom flats adjacent to weed growth in less than 5'. The hot baits were green pumpkin shakeyheads and Neds with dark swing impacts helping eliminate unproductive water.

Thanks, @Bluebasser86 for the video!  That fish was a 6-4 and is my new personal best.  Caught on an Ivy BHW with a swimbait trailer.

I also fished a private lake in Oklahoma on all four days of the long weekend.  I didn't fish a whole lot of time (maybe 8 hours total), but I did get on a couple of good patterns depending on time of day.  I caught about 20 fish, with the largest at 4-0 on a custom painted 1.5 crank off a shallow ledge.  Lots of wobbler fish too in the middle of the day, which was really fun.
