Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Had another good day on Wolf today/yesterday/Friday, whatever you want to call it at 1am.

The catching has picked up. I've caught several each of my last few times out.

Glad that lake turned on. It only took 5.5 pounds to win our Thursday night tournament out there a few weeks ago and half the boats didn't catch bass over a pound. Me and @gardnerjigman never had anything that was for sure a bite I don't think.

Truth... I've never felt more violated in my life...

In spite of having 3 nice Smallmouth jump and throw my swimjig today, I had a blast at Lake Shawnee.

No giants but, pretty consistent all day.

Caught Smallmouth on rocky shorelines on a swim jig and a shaky head.

Caught Largemouth on points and around docks on a wacky rig and a ned rig.

3lb 8oz.

also had 2  1.5 lb bass. and several sub legal fish.

caught everything pretty shallow on a green pumpkin swimjig

had a good trip to lake shawnee today.

water was pretty dirty from last nights storms, but fish were biting. all fish were on main lake points.

caught a mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth.

most were on a chatterbait and swimjig.

caught a couple on a neko rig.

largest bass was 18 1/4 inches long 2lb 14 oz. it missed my chatterbait.  Caught it on a follow up cast with a ned rig.

tried a lipless crankbait, but the drum would not leave it alone.

My wife and I fished there Monday for about 4 hours, water was very dirty for that lake, less than a foot of visibility with a nasty brownish-green tint to it. Fish were still very active and mainly on or near points like you found. I did well on a baby brush hog and also a homemade bladed jig. Didn't weigh it, but my largest seemed to be recovering nicely from he spawn. Caught it out of that old water park area that they opened up into the lake now.

I thought the water was dirty from the storms. maybe all of the boat traffic this weekend stirred it up.

That lake has impressed me this year.

I wish they would put the 18 inch minimum limit on the other lakes. it seems to improve the average size bass.

Wyandotte and Leavenworth still have the 15 inch limit on Largemouth. while they do have a few big fish, the average size is much smaller than Shawnee and Olathe.

Caught this about two years ago in the fall. Any weight estimates on her? I did not have a scale. EA332D88-930A-4FDC-9A02-A6B20B5ED2F1.thumb.jpeg.0403cdc1bbbd5702db89ef2d63df06c5.jpeg

Another picture that shows the shoulders a bit better:AA5B5A34-0045-469B-8428-24E51ACB13CE.thumb.jpeg.e299c119888753b8a435b1b9a91e74ed.jpeg

Get any measurements? I'd guess 5.5-6 by that picture, nice fish. Measurements would help a lot though.

It was roughly 24-25” long. Didn’t get the gerth but I could barely fit my hands around her if that helps.

24-25 inches is massive for a Kansas fish. You're getting into DD territory at that length with a fat fish. My 7 3/4 from La Cygne was only 22" long. I caught a 24.5" fish from La Cygne but it was very skinny and only weighed 7.51. Usually a fish that length is going to be anywhere from 7 to over 10 depending on the girth.

Hell, then it was probably around 22. It was super chunky and had the mouth of a dd and I still regret not bringing a scale. Last good fish I caught out there was pushing 5 and was a post spawner in early summer. Based on that, I’m assuming that fish in those pictures had to have weighed at least more than 5. And also, got any info on Wyandotte lately? Thinking about heading out there with some buddies soon.

If the weather is calm I use finesse baits like a shakyhead or ned rig. If there is wind I use chatterbaits or swim jigs around main lake points.

La Cygne was a grind but still pretty good yesterday. Topwater and then dragging plastic did the trick but they really are keyed on certain types of areas. We caught a couple dozen bass, these were just the 4 over 18" fish we weighed.

went to La Cygne today. it was hot and calm. I caught 2 small bass and 3 catfish. That lake is one of the toughest around for me. someday I will figure it out.

Gardner was a lot of fun last night. Big bass was a 5.04 but we got the win with our bag.

Do the people with docks and boats out there normally leave you alone?

The one and only time I ever went to Eureka lake, almost every person there had a God complex and would come out running, yelling, and throw things at you if you even got within 20yds of there dock.

Last time is the first time I've ever had anyone say anything about it but he was so drunk I don't know if he knew what he was saying. His dock sucks anyways so we just moved on. Everyone else is always friendly.

fished Olathe today. caught 12 total. these were the biggest 3.

all were in 10 to 15 foot of water. caught them on a shakyhead with a trick worm.

I was the only boat on the water all day.

I have not had much success flipping the shallow weeds this year at Olathe.

My son and I had a pretty good night at my father in laws pond.  We caught a bunch of little ones with a few decent ones mixed in.  He caught his biggest on a wacky rigged senko and mine came on a black buzzbait.

A few good ones from our Thursday night tourney at Olathe tonight.  Bite was good for all boats.  Took over 13lbs to win and a 4.6lb big bass.  We had third with 10.70 lbs.
