Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Text me the rates when you get them and I'll make the call. I'd already kind of just thought to drive home and then drive back out in the morning...but if the price is right I'd stay and partay.

At most it will be $60 per room. That is their advertised rates. The owner is supposed to call me back today to give me the "special rate".

Price is $55.95 per room. I'm booking ours tomorrow.

Economy Inn (I spoke with Anita and the owner)

Let them know you are with the tournament from KC.

Getting close boys!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys I have a tournament at Milford this weekend. Has anyone fished there lately and how was it?

Getting close boys!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't it just figure that I finally caught the boat problem bug? Took a dump on me at Melvern yesterday during a trip. Thinking its a fuel pump deal and fingers crossed will have it back by this weekend. Otherwise we'll be using DJs boat. Just my luck though. Been solid all season until the week of the big tournament lol. Should be fine though!

Brian, I think I was fishing near you when you were (unsuccessfully) trying the start the boat. I was going to go over and check on you when I finished fishing the point I was on, but when I idled out, it looked like you were back fishing and I didn't want to roll up on you. Sorry I didn't follow up; I would have given you a tow.

Hahaaaaa! When y'all start crying for Melv on day two you would understand! But nope, we fishin.

We ain't skurd

How did Melvern treat everyone this weekend? Other than white bass and drum, I struggled. Having said that, I hooked what may have been my pb smallmouth at noon yesterday on a squarebill. I cast over my son's line and had to wait for him to reel in. As the squarebill floated there, she hit and the fight was on. I finally got her to the boat and realized I forgot my net. She broke off right at the boat as I reached to lip her. I hadn't retied in awhile and the zebra mussels and/or rocks had probably nicked the line.  Lesson learned.

I don't know anyone who hasn't had to learn that Razor Clam lesson the hard way. I've learned it multiple times, and they still get me sometimes.

We know you ain't!  And we know who is skurd!

We should organize a Melvern showdown sometime between now and ditch chicken season.  See who's skurd!

I was really planning on a day 2 at Melvern. I was pretty surprised when I wasn't the only person with my hand in the air. Didn't even think my partner was going to vote for CV both days  :laugh5:  I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. I don't think I could ever get tired of catching smallmouth.

People have been asking me why I've fished the same lake for the last 8 weeks, and that's the exact answer I've given them. Melv is a gem and I just don't get tired of catching smallies. Add to that the fact that I'd really like to see a 4#+ before the year is out.

That would be awesome.

As the boater goes, so goes the co-angler... lol. Wouldn't have mattered since 2/3 of the vote swung CV.  :Idontknow:

Just to show how prepared we were for a day 2 at melvern, we had made a TW order just before the meeting that was pretty much nothing but Melvern stuff. lol

I'm ready for cedar. Gonna be a blast.

Couple spots with lots of pads at Melvern. I tried hard to get a smallie to hit a frog in them but no luck.

Are you insinuating that I'm some sort of top water junkie?  :eyebrows:

Never leave home without a frog tied on somewhere.

Only 1 lake around here I don't have one on...

I'd love a Melvern weigh in only tournament.
