Don't get me wrong I have had some really good days and caught some nice fish at Busch just most days are very tough. In a wierd way I kind of like going there because I know how tough it is so when I do catch fish makes me feel like I have accomplished something.

The thing is my wifes nephew is new to bass fishing and loves it but I can tell he gets frustrated when we are a Busch. Just trying to find places to take him so he can catch more fish.

Guess I will have to buy a boat.

Yeah Queeny park is not bad but you need to go to the lakes in the back of the park. They are a hike but they are not too terrible. The walk is nice too, Ive seen all kinds of interesting things.  a bunch of deer, a big owl, a family of turkeys ran in front of me on day. It was like 2 adults and 3-4 babies. Really cool.  Ive seen 2 coyotes this year.  Anyway, yeah those are decent little ponds. You can find them on the maps of the park. Heck, if you ever wanted to go sometime we could meet up and I could show you how to get there. Tehy get all kinds of scum on the lakes in the summer so frog fishing is fun at that time. Anyway, if you want to go sometime, let me know!

I fish Spanish Lake quite regularly over the summer time. Ive pulled out some decent fish out of there. I've also tried Bee Tree off Telegraph a few times with no luck. I never knew about Queeny having a pond there. I'll have to try it sometime.

Back before the Big pond was renovated at queeny, I saw quite a few 3-4 lbs and one that was nearly 6.  We used a scale, so they were somewhere around that size.  Last year the biggest i caught at queeny was a 3.5 lb largemouth on a Ragetail Eeliminator.  At one of the back ponds theres a HUGE fish swimming around the surface.  His dorsal fin is sticking out as he swims. If anyone wants to go to queeny sometime, let me know cause im always going alone.

I fish busch wildlife 2 or 3 times a week. i work right across the hwy from it. i can see the d**n of lake 35. Its tough to catch fish there but there are nice bass in a bunch of the lakes. I limit out most days now on the crappie mostly dinks but hey they taste just as good. I've caught one 5lb lm so far this year there.

St Louis here. I fish LOZ and Twain from spring to fall. Then I fish Baldwin Lake in the winter time. I fish the Meremac locally and I am going to start fishing Horseshoe Lake in Granite City.

BTW LOZ is on fire right now. Get down there if you can. Baldwin had a major fish kill last summer. Last winter it was an amazing lake. Several 20# limits. This year I had one day with 19#s and not another day w more than 3 keepers.

What do you think the lower temps this coming weekend are going to do to the fish down there on LOZ?

My fish were holding to chunk rock, but I am sure they are using the pea gravel by now. The air temps won't really cool below the water temps till Friday. That may not bother your fish but it may. I would start off as if the cooler air temps won't bother the fish. Fish shallow w jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. If you don't get bit or only catch 2 pound and less buck bass shallow, then fish the 4-10' range for bigger females. If the cool temps affect them, then they might be finicky. Try real slow. For those females fish big rock, brush piles skip far under docks.

I grew up in Ladue and currently live near Creve Couer in unincorporated St. Louis County. I fished the White River lakes, Stockton and LOZ in the 1970'. Then in 1981, I built a vacation home on Truman. It was good fishing for 20 years, but not the last 10. Now that I am retired, I have put my home on Truman for sale and plan to buy a condo on LOZ when I sell my home. I used to be confined to weekend fishing, but now I can fish on any weekday. So boat traffic is much less of a concern to me.

He would have lived there then, when you drove in and stayed to the left his house was the last one on the hill to the right just before the turn and where the road went to the left across the creek. It was his wife's parents house and the only place she ever lived.

My grandparents house was on Margret Drive across the creek second house from the end on the left, my sister lives there now.
