The One That Got Away….
I caught a healthy 3ish pounder a few weekends ago. When i was removing my hook i noticed the eye of another hook just barely sticking out from its gullet. I grabbed the eye of the hook and pulled gently with pliers and out came a texas rigged 10.5 purple ole monster worm and super rusty hook. Released the fish a few ounces lighter. Who knows how long that had been in the fish?!? That was a first for me.

Need Help For This Afternoon..
Start in the deeper parts earlier in the afternoon. Drag a jig or t-rig and see if you can find any structure or bottom differences. The stuff you cant see. As the afternoon turns into evening start hitting the shallows/banks with crankbaits and your weightless baits. just my .02

Powell Or Duckett
As far as powell vs duckett. I own both brands and the powell ratings tend to be on the lighter side compared to other brands. I own a heavy action duckett and itll pull a truck outta the mud!(not really). My powell rods are mh action and they seem more like mediums to me but still my favorite. Hope this helps

Labor Day Smallmouth Fishing In Michigan
Several of us from here in Missouri are headed up to Three Rivers Michigan (st. joseph co.) the beginning of September for some smallie action. Any recommendation on lakes around there or a little distance away that are producing or have produced great small mouth fishing? Long time LMB fisher, first time SMB fisher. We will be in boats. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Dave.

Sk Red Eye Shads Not Running Right (Help!)
KVD did a an interview and was asked this question. His reply and also that of strike king was that when glued together these lures sometimes get glue on the weights inside making them stick to one side of the lure. The lure then do not track true and kind of swim on the side. Strike king knows of this problem and said they are going to be fixing the problem. KVD suggestion was to smack them on the water a few times to break the weights free inside and if this does Not work then return them for new ones.
