Dont waste your time.  Basser89 can attest that it is not the greatest show on earth.

You will see some hard to find lures, but the prices are not anything great and the building where the show is looks run down.

I have opted to not go again, but thats just my opinion.

Thanks for the heads up speedbead.  I'm still going to go, just not as early.  I've never been to one of these before.

I've been going for several years now. Last years was pretty good. The Pro's made it worth while! I got to spend some great  1 on 1 time with Marty Stone (which definitely made it worth the price of admission!). As SPEEDBEAD stated, it's not the greatest show on earth. Don't get all pumped at the size of the building the show is in! Remember, half the expo is saltwater so cut the building in half to start. Then, the boat area is about 2/3 the size of half, which doesn't leave as much area for the vendors (don't forget the guides are in this section too, nothing against the guides! I got to meet Capt Mike of Indian Head charters last year) just stating it cuts down a little more on the space for the lures. Compared to other years, the seminar area seemed REALLY small and cramped! The last thing I've noticed since I've started going to this expo is they seem to draw really good pros to the event about every other year. Jimmy Houston, Marty Stone and Greg Hackney were there last year when I went. The only pro that held any interest for me to see this year was Brent Chapman. If history holds true, I'll be back next year. I will say that if anyone going hasn't seen one of Ken Penrod's seminars, plan on seeing his! IMO, he's a great presenter and really enjoys teaching anglers about smallies. Any spinnerbait fans attending, check out XCiter spinnerbaits! I'm stocked so there's another reason why I don't have to go this year.  ;D  I hope everyone that attends has a good time!

I checked it out on saturday..it was my first one and i enjoyed it alot. Found a couple of new companys ive never heard of, Pappys Baits they make some pretty awesome looking tubes i picked up. I also thought it was pretty cool watching some of the litle kids in the casting competion i like i saw the next KVD the way one kid was casting haha all in all good first expo and im sure ill go next year

I've been going to the show since the late 80's and I have notice a decline every year.  I would not expect to get a good deal on anything that is new this year.  Most of the deals will be on closeouts or discontinued items.  You can find a few new baits but I'd rather sit at home and surf the internet to do that.  A friend of mine runs probably the largest booth there www.hawgheadbaits.com.

If I were you I'd go to Outdoor World and Cabelas if your looking for common lures.

I was able to go on Saturday too. Not a great show but a good show. The seminars are the best part and worth the money. I was able to buy some hard to find colored crankbaits I cant get in my area. I find it odd that the two biggest tackle shops there (Hawghead and Susqhuehanna Fishing Tackle) are from PA. Is there not any tackle shops like them from the MD area?

Boett43, I've been using tubes from Pappys Baits for a few years now and they have produced fish on days when downsizing was a must and nothing else was working. They are my go to bait when the fishing is tuff. :)

Thanks jake i already have confidence in them now haha...have you ever used there tubes with the crawfish trailer inside? ive never seen that before let me know how u rig them if you have Thanks

Yes I always use them with the craw. I use a 1/8 or 1/4 oz tube weight depending on the depth i'm fishing. I use the weight that you slide up in the tube and has a hole on top for an offset hook. Then after you trim the body of the craw slide it in and put it all together with a 2/0 offest wide gap hook. I also have used them with the small yamamoto craw.
