Shore Fishing KY Lake Advice

Featured Replies

I am trying to plan a trip to KY Lake sometime in April, but I do not have a boat and have never fished the area.  With such a huge lake I have no idea where the perfect spot to shore fish would be?  Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for shore fishing KY Lake?  Also, would it be worth the cost to aquire the services of a guide??  I would rather just find those hot spots along the shore!

4years ago i took my mom down to see her 2 sisters for Easter, and i wanted to fish the lake for awhile. I bought a 3 day license and was hoping to maybe rent a boat. (didn't bring mine-600 miles 1 way) $60 for 4 hrs, didn't want to do it, so i just fished around the ramp. Caught my only Kentucky bass in my life, 15", on a plastic worm. Saw some Indiana boys bringing 5 gallon buckets full of 16"+ crappies, the biggest was 21"!! I wish i could catch a bass (in Mich.) that big. I will not be able to go to the BR road trip but if i could, i might try to get me some of them slabs !
