New England Record Bass?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've been trying to find the story and any pictures of the CT state record smallie and largemouth, but have come up empty-handed.

Can anyone find information on these two fish? Also, if you have information on the records for any other northeastern state, I would also be interested in that.

Thanks  :)

If you are asking what CT's state record is : Largemouth = 12 lbs 14 oz. /  smallmouth= 7 lbs 12 oz.

Maine's record largemouth is 11 lbs 10 oz.

Smallmouth is 8 lbs even.

I've never seen any story or pics on CT's records.  I'm guessing that info is not public

I do know that CT's next state record will come out of Twin Lakes, that place probably has numerous state record fish in it. I have never seen a public lake that throws out more 3-6 pound fish that Twin. It has the perfect grasslines (until sprayed in July), GIANT craws, and a trout population. Along with tons of white perch and crappie.

Mass. record was a 15 lb. 8 oz. freak the likes of which New England will not likely produce again... I've heard it was the largest confirmed pure Northern-strain largemouth ever. It was caught through the ice, no less...

I know the weights are public but the story of the fight and presentation may be at the discretion of the angler

East twin also has a healthy trout population.  alewife will only get a bass so far.  to get that big they need a really fattening meal.

So no one knows the full story behind any of the New England record bass such as lure/bait, time of year, story, etc.? Any pictures?

It seems to me that this shouldn't be such restricted information  :-/

I couldnt find an exact date to see if it was possible, but I thought I had heard that the 15 pound Mass record was taken through the ice...

That's also what I heard, but I wanna see pictures! And was he fishing an UL setup with a crappie jig? Where's the news article? That's the kind of stuff I want to know and see, and I can't find it anywhere!
