Shoes

Featured Replies

We talk a lot on these forums about tackle, boats, techniques, weather, lakes, and so on. I am very curious about what you all wear on your feet during long days on the water. I'm a big guy, and foot comfort is very important to me. I'm trying to get a read on this by watching the pros, and they wear everything from sneakers to flip-flops. Let's see what the replies look like...

Fish out of a pair of Columbias with mesh pockets on the bottoms and sides for ventilation...Love these shoes...

If it's during summer, sandles (Plenty of Sunscreen).  If it's not hot, just my normal "Skater" shoes (Super comfortable)

Usually just an older pair of regular gym shoes. They are comfortable and dry out decently quick if I have to get my feet wet at the ramp.

I fish from the shore and like to have something waterproof in case I step in the water. Right now I use a pair of Red Wings Waterproof work boot. They are kind of heavy but very comfortable.

some old nike AF 1's

Crocs. Ugly looking, but oh so comfortable. :)

x2.  I have a special pair that's reserved just for fishing.

I usually wear sandals. I have a pair of rugged shark sandals the most comfortable sandals ever and they are made for the water.

Mainly from the shore:  Crocs around my pond.  Tennis shoes rest of the time.  Been thinking about getting some light boots.

Steel toe'd boots (that's all I have except some fancy dress shoes that I try as hard as I can not to wear them)  ;D

Fer real all !!

croc flip flops in the summer and adidas running shoes any other time

You girls must not fish when it's cold!

:o

I'm with you RW

L-R  North Face Gore-Tex Ultra XCR , Grizzly 1200g Sierra's, GI Micky Boot (good to -20)

In the warmer months, I use either the North Face Gore-Tex or flip flops

When It's cold like right now. I'll wear my insulated hunting boots. Otherwise I'll wear flip flops.

I'm not sure if they still make them, but I found a pair of Adida Mali shoes that are awesome!

It's a regular looking lowtop tennis shoe, but it has a thick vented squishy insert and drains in the bottom of the shoe.  Good traction and comfortable enough for 10 hours on one foot.

Just don't step in the puddles with them or the bottom of your socks will be wet.
