Nice job. I caught two today myself at horseshoe, But they were only small ones ( a little over a pound), But it's still a bass. Very windy today and I had to fight that trolling motor. Here it is. I did not bother to take the picture of the other one as they were the same.

Nice fish. There is a monster pickeral in there with your/or your wifes name on it. I caught a big one in there last summer, So I know you will hit it soon. Your just as bad as me. Can never get enough fishing. I try to fish everyday now if time allow. Keep posting pictures and I will to. Where is that pond in Hudson you went to today? How is the fishing there?

its on musquash rd. this was only our second time there and our first time that it was actualy fishable. it gets overgrown with lilypads in the summer. i wouldnt waste my time unless you are just looking for some privacy. its pretty secluded.

if you havent yet, you should pick up a copy of

"CLARK'S NEW HAMPSHIRE FISHING GUIDE."

it has pretty much every body of water in new hampshire that holds bass and isnt private. to me its the bible of nh fishing.

Thanks Tom. Where did you get that guide at? Good luck fishing this season to you and your wife. I'm sure we will meet up at some point.

The best place to get Clark's at is Northern Bass. It's cheapest there. I've seen it at wal-mart as well but it's more expensive

Thanks guys. I am going to pick one up.

you can also order it online from northern bass supply or amazon.com.  It's def the bible of NH fishing.

My water is  little bit warmer (45-52) im in NE Mass. But after throwing everything in my tackle box since ice out, ALL, of the woping three bass and three chain pickerel Have been caught on grubs, that were slow rolled on exposed jig heads over shallow flats. The grubs were black/red Paul-E grubs and Berkley Gulp 4'' grubs.

nice fish!!

nice one.

we havent had any luck since friday. i had a small bass get off yesterday at mill pond. we tried the nashua river behind margaritas today but the water was way too high and the current was too fast. we also tried the merrimack river in hudson but didnt have any luck.

Merrimack is tough. My son and I have not had any luck over there. I heard there are some smallies there.

I've heard from a very reliable source that the Merrimack can be excellent bass fishing if you fish from Sewalll Falls Dam launch in Concord.  I'm gonna try it on the 4th of July this year.

I'm hitting my local LM honey hole today.  Hopefully I'll have pics and a report later on.

Tight lines y'all!

Hit my favorite ponds today and got SKUNKED both places. The wind was blowing me all over the place. I also ended up bird nesting my baitcaster and losing a jig, After that I said the the H-- with this I'm calling it a day LOL.

Jaystraw  did you have any luck?

wife caught another pickeral yesterday at mill pond.

i took my buddy from work there today after work and he caught two perch and a crappie. first perch was pretty big. then i ended up hooking my freind in the back of the head. he wanted to keep fishing but i figured i had done enough damage for one day.

Did you catch the perch and crappie at horseshoe? I have never caught them at Mill. Those treble hooks must of hurt. Nice fish. My son caught a few crappie and perch at horseshoe last year. I went out today and only caught a small bass (not worth weighting) and a Pickeral in 3 hours. They were 2 other boats out there plus the shore fisherman there so it was getting some pressure in that little pond (Mill Pond). I'm going out tommorow again, But may try another spot.

Went out to mill again today ended up catching another small bass and a good size pickeral. I hooked a big largemouth but he got off just as I was getting ready to grab him. Man does that s--- bad.. How did you make out Tom?

went back to musquash with my MIL's neibor. he used to fish there alot as a kid and knows the pond real good. we didnt catch  anything. the clarks book is right, musquash is on its last legs as a fishery.

what are you using for bait at mill pond? my buddy caught all those fish yesterday with a crankbait and while we were there a guy from shore caught a 3 pounder with a spinnerbait.

  • Author

I was using a Jig. I have tried a spinner bait and a crankbait, But so far I have been only catching them on the Jig. I am still thinking about that big Bass I lost today. It was weird he hit it twice and then I set the hook and I must of only had had him lightly hooked, But man it was a nice one and I only wish I could have that back, But I guess everyone has lost a fish from time to time.  I did try the Nashua river for a short time and had no luck there. I may try tommorow some place late as I have stuff to do most of the day. If you try Mill tommorow check out some of the drop offs toward the back end that is where they seem to still be hanging out. Throw a jig or a tube. I caught all my fish from the same spot.  Good luck.

thanks. ill try that.

i shore fished mill pond for an hour today around 6:00 and caught this little guy.
