  1. Thanks again. I went out monday and tried slow rolling spinner baits and cranking but came up empty. I also went on tuesday, and got one small bass on a wacky senko deadsticking it in 23' (deepest part of the lake). Next time I'll try carolina rigs and drop shoting. Also I'm thinking a lipless crank riped off the bottom. I'll keep you posted and thanks again for the input.
  2. Thanks for all the help I'll have to try the more vertical presentations you guys are talking about, I've been mostly using cranks to try and catch fish I see schooled up on my graph. Ill keep posted on what if anything I get any fish on. P.s Captian Planet being canceled = worst decision ever in history. >
  3. Most of the ponds I fish are around 200 acres or so. avg 20' in the middle and pads grow in up to six or seven feat. There are usually a few points that taper down into the 20' depths and no other forms of structure other than submerged weeds. Any ideas on where the bass are? The water temps in the low 50's. I've averaged one fish every trip, but these I got either cranking or throwing jerks blindly in open water so theres not really a patern there other than that some fish are suspened? Any Helps appreciated thanks.
  4. Also try 15-25 lb florocarbon its less visible and with swimbaits your going for the natural look.
  5. Thanks thats the best picture ive seen of one too. Its wierd that they dont show thier product better.
  6. Im looking to order a Casitas 2.0 but there arnt any good pictures of the colors. So I was wondering if anyone could post some if they have the lure or send me a link to a site I overlooked. Any help appreciated thnaks.
  7. Thanks for all the help im looking forward to getting out there this weekend and trying everything.
  8. I guess the pond is a bowl it has about ten feet around the bank of lilly pads before slowly falling down to around fifteen. One end has pads out thirty feet from shore, and thick submerged grass once the pads end for another thirty feet.
  9. Thanks for the tip and I fish out of a conoe so ill try it next weekend. Once I map the bottom how do you think I should go about fishing it?
  10. Anybody have any advise on how to fish a pond around sixty acres for postspawn/ summer patern fish without a depth finder?. I have already figured there aren't anybass of size in the shallows, and I suspect the big ones have gone deep. This pond averages fifteen feet deep without much bottom structure I can find. It has mostly a mud bottom and water clarity is around four feet. Any help would be greatly apreciated thanks.
  11. The paints sik on both, but it all depends on the action. Try and find some videos online of them swimming and see which one you like more. If it were me I would buy the Reaction Strike, but i dont know why?...just preference, pick one you would want to throw more.
  12. I wait a second, but the fish don't even take the bait its like thier hiting it with thier mouths closed. P.S thanks for all the advice.
  13. Wouldnt the trebles get hung up?
  14. Kinda, I always droped the Lizard back where I got the strike but there were no takers. I did try the same thing with a senko and still nothing.
  15. I was fishing a wieghtless lizard over pads on a small pond near my house today, and must have had 20 boils but none took it! Is there anything I'm doing wrong, or anything i could change like color or retreave? Ps. The only bass I had on the day was on a Broze eye frog.
  16. I was at a friends house yesterday, and he showed me a copy his dad has of a book named "Bill Dance Guide to Black Bass fishing". I just thought that was cool, it had some prety good tips in it. Anyway i was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of it, and if it is still on sale?
  17. I am looking to purchase a few swim baits, and was wondering if anybody has any advice for sizes. Also any color/body shape advice would be useful, like Bluegill shape vs. Trout. i live in Northeast Mass. so there arn't a lot of huge bass up here, and the waters i fish arn't stalked with Trout.. Any help would be wiked useful...thanks.
  18. My water is little bit warmer (45-52) im in NE Mass. But after throwing everything in my tackle box since ice out, ALL, of the woping three bass and three chain pickerel Have been caught on grubs, that were slow rolled on exposed jig heads over shallow flats. The grubs were black/red Paul-E grubs and Berkley Gulp 4'' grubs.
  19. If you have any, the Strike King King shad in a color that matches your forage, or a sebile magic swimmer. These can be waked, or fished shallow and are good shad imitators.
  20. I agree with WTRDOG , the bass don't get big enough up here regularly to catch numbers with a swim bait. The most productive I've found are as follows: the Sebile Magic swimmer, wake it around sunken trees and over shallow flats. The Strike King King Shad is probably my all around favorite lure. Its fairly small for a swim bait, and I've had short of one pound fish swallow it, so you wont be sacrificing numbers. It dives about three feet and I usually fish it in clear open water to bring bass up from the depths, also if you swim it through any bass bed its an automatic strike. If you do want a swim bait that is prone to catch a tru lunker the one I would recommend is the Castiac Catch 22 in a large size 8+ inches. This lure swims incredibly well and is almost equal in endurance compared to 50$+ hard swim bait for considerably less. And with all of these baits always match the natural forage of your area. Swim baits are clear water lures so realism is key.
  21. What are your favorite huge worms ( 10'' +) and colors? Mine is Black Mizmo Hogzilla.
  22. Im completely new to deadSticking, what lures and colors would you recomend?
  23. captain planet where in northeast mass do you fish? I usually fish the North Andover reservoir, and ponds near it. Thanks for all the tips, ill probably try them out this weekend and hopefully get something.
  24. Thanks for the help. Would you recommend any specific time of day or place to fish for these guys?
  25. I usually fish a small pond in north east Massachusetts, and was wondering if there are any Carp in these waters. If there are, any tips on catching them would be greatly appreciated.
