I was hoping you would get better response,

we have several guys the fish the lake on a

regular basis.

This is my post from last week:

Depends a lot on the weather. If it's warm, the bass will be

in the grass and shallow water. Two years ago we had our

Roadtrip at Guntersville, but the weather sucked! I caught

a few on a Xr50 Blue silver/ Orange and a Senko. Glenn caught

a few on a spinnerbait and Keri had luck with a Rat-L-Trap.

Maybe some of the other guys will have more suggestions.

Good luck!

The standard pattern on Gville in early march has almost always been find the warmest water possible and throw a rattle trap and jerkbait.

I can't help ya out any, but was wondering if anyone knows what the water temp. on Guntersville is now? My brother is thinking of going down soon to Bear creek, I fig. it would be close to the same.

The lipless crankbait will be the dominate bite in March for sure. My favorite is the xcalibur XR50 and XR75 with the one knocker rattle......rayburn red and gold/black back. Fish will be up shallow 2-5 ft. Fancasting the edges and cuts in the flats will get the big fish. Water temps are generally 44-48 degrees. I personally think the bigger fish bite better when the water is in the lower 40's . If I can be of help to you just let me know. I would be glad to show you around the lake and make a few places on the map for you......here is a few pics from the spring....all of these fish taken on a lipless crank.

xr50, xr75, spinnerbait

i have a tournament on guntersville in early february any suggestions on what to do?

I personally like the mid lake area(north sauty creek) and south. Grass flats with the ditches and breaks in them are where the big fish will be taken. Thing is that you will be able to catch keeper bass everywhere.....you will have to find the bigger schools of fish. I like the XR50, XR75 in rayburn red with the 1-knocker rattle and a lucky craft pointer 100 jerkbait. Water temps should be in the mid to high 40's which is just about perfect. I would be glad to show you around the lake when you come down
