Featured Replies

four mile run was a hit today boys, the crappie are in and the bass are still there, even managed to catch a 4lb carp on a crappie tube.

Overall managed maybe a dozen crappie, 4 bass, and a carp in the 2 hours that I was there, not too shabby. I was on the southern side next to the toyota dealership, moved maybe less than 50 yards. Water was clear and fish were visible esp the schools of perch and crappie near the banks. Bass were a little deeper hugged up against the bridge supports.

Thai! I need me some fishing. You gonna be free Saturday? I am thinking about giving it a try.

Well nice work Thai. Once again I think the weather is gonna pooch us but good. 2+ inches of rain + snow melt....... I think Saturday might be a tough deal. I've seen what a big rain can do to the run and it's not pretty.

Muddy or not I'm still down to try my luck there again, maybe this time I'll venture further than 50yards haha

Try some jerkbaits over on that side,  little deeper than the panfish.  ;)

sounds like you had a good 2 hours out there. Im assuming thats about all u could take was 2 hours of that freezing weather. Man I would have walked a lil to catch a dozen crappie and 4 bass. If you go next week then holla at me. Maybe I could try out my pixy on those crappie since I dont have any medium light soinning gear.

The key to Jerkbaits in the cold though is patience and I mean saintly patience....neither of those would I call myself.....  :-/

Sorry I don't but there was no ice anywhere

So what time are you  gonna get down there Thai?  I think I'm gonna get down there at about 7:30 am, catch the last bit of outgoing tide and the first part of incoming tide.

Scratch that PM, I'll see you out there at 7:30 or so, which side are you going to fish?

Well then, read and replied to your pm before I looked at the thread.  Gonna be on the side next to the Toyota dealership

It was a very tough deal today.  I managed to snag a very large carp in the tail, got it all the way to the bank and snapped off!!  Couple of small bites, but no bass or crappie.  Hooked up with Thai and friends ( sorry guys, I'm horrible with names) at around 8am and we walked around a bit looking for some willing takers in the fast, muddy, cold water.  It was a crap shoot at best but we were out of the house and giving it a shot!!

I also managed to snag what I'm pretty sure was a corpse, snapped before I got it out though  ;D

Thai got skunked ? Whats the world coming to...

I've had my fair share of skunks like everyone else, and it was tough conditions out there today....

A friend of mine sent me this photo. The biggest of 7 he caught today by dropshotting some ponds.

I know....Too bad I'm sending my reels out on Monday. All 5 are getting cleaned, lubed, and greased. Two of them will receive new Orange Seal bearings.
