We're a harden gang of ex felons, we live by our own rules and anyone who gets in the way of our beliefs and goal no matter how radical they are will regret it  >:(

Haha...you've got it right...short for Northern Virginia.

"NOVA" is usually defined as the Northern part of Virginia down to Fredericksburg.

Is that from wiki? :D didn't know there was a real border. NoVA, to me, is just defined as within an hour or so of DC.

Those are pretty much the set limits that I've seen. Wikipedia confirms "Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Stafford and Prince William counties, and the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park." and adds that sometimes "Clarke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Frederick, Madison, Page, Rappahannock, Shenandoah, Spotsylvania, and Warren counties, as well as the independent cities of Fredericksburg and Winchester" can be included.

My definition of the "real" NOVA is generally Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, and Prince William County and all the independent cities therein.

As a native of the area Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania are NOT part of Northern Virginia!  I personally don't concider Stafford part of NoVA but others would argue the point.

Dick. I just saw that.

I agree. NOVA only goes to Prince William as far as I'm concerned.

I live in Stafford county when I'm not at school and I wouldn't call it NoVA. But the majority of the places I used to fish were in counties that would be considered NoVA. Now I just stick to the Potomac. But call it what you want, I couldn't care less

Josh, you are very funny.  You are all NOVA in my book!!  Anyone willing to put up with all the stuff that goes on here and keeps comming back for more, you're good peeps.

im going to start fishing chesdin, and hoping to somehow learn how to fish the james this spring since ive never been out on the james.

Hey Carrington -- I'm originally from Richmond (live in Loudoun County now) so let me tell you all the James River tips you'll ever need: unless you are catfishing for trophies, avoid it. It is the single worst bass fishery in America. Chesdin, Briery, Sandy Creek and the Sufflok lakes would be better options. Also Hunting Run, Motts, and Curtis around Fredericksburg are better. That's just my 2 cents. I personally do not know ANY true basser who enjoys fishing the James. I grew up 10 minutes from the river and didn't fish it until into my 20s, even though my uncle and grandfather both had boats. There's a reason they never took me there...
