Pretty sure Breckenridge requires a Quantico license unless you want the Marines chasing you.

yeah it does. I read a civilian can get one though.

I fished Breckenridge a couple time 6 years ago.  It really wasn't any better than any f the public res in the area.  Civy's can get a QT base pass at the office just outside the gate.

I think the permits are something like $10

I clicked on the link to the map you posted.  Which pond is it?  The one to the west of Cox Farms nursery, or the one to the southeast just off Pleasant Valley Rd.?  Let me know, I might have info for you.

Run=creek, I assume he's referring to the creek that appears in the link.

I live in that area.  All of those "creeks" are what we call ditches where I come from.  No more than 10 yards wide and a foot deep.  You can find some bluegills, but not much else.

good info

Breckenridge isn't far from my house. I will check it out next weekend.

I wouldn't doubt it (ice locked); it doesn't get alot of sun.  Good call

Yeah I was talking about the the creek. Its deep in some spots. I've caught good size large mouth bass in creeks even shallower than elk lick run. I thought I'd give elk lick run a try. I have fished that pond to the southeast off pleasant forest drive. I left after a short time because it didn't look like a good fishing pond. I never even noticed that one on cox farms property. What area's have you fished there? Ever fished cub run? I've also noticed a lot of ponds at ticonderoga farms  right down the street off braddock. Dont know if there fishing ponds though.

I've fished those creeks but never caught bass. Just shellcrackers (some decent). Also fished that "hidden" pond just off Pleasant Valley. Caught a couple keeper bass but left due to the hundreds (literally) of ticks crawling around. I'm not afraid of bugs at all, but have had spotted tick fever, so I'll pass on that one.

Never fished the one by Ticonderoga, have fished some nearby. The pond across from the Westfields MArriot had some big bass in it (over 5 lbs) but its closed to public now and looks like all the grass was killed anyway. In fact, its so clear and barren now I think they may have moved all the fish out of there. I was getting frustrated by the immigrant "dinner' anglers there before it closed. I think that's who the property management company was ticked about when they shut it down, at least according to a game warden I saw there once.

Do you live in this area as well (specifically the Centerville/Chantilly/Westfields/South Riding area)?

I've fished at the pond by westfield marriot a couple times. There's another pond right across the street from the sully police station. I've only been there once, but I did see a big fish in there. Probably a catfish. But there were ticks everywhere. I don't live in that area anymore. But i'll be back later this month for a bit so i wanted to check some of them out.

I've fished near there once and I came away with what looked like pollen on my shorts. Then I moved my hand near the pollen and it started to move. Turns out they were hundreds of little itty-bitty dot sized ticks. Be careful out that way. Lyme disease ain't no joke.
