Nova guy here. Just started Bass Fishing thanks you guys and this website. Words cannot describe the feeling catching my very first bass . Even got my little brother hooked on fishing  . Anyways was wondering if you guys recommended any ponds/lakes around my area.

I've fished Lake Brittle below Gainesville on Rt 29 but with very little luck, it is very pressured.  With the Potomac and its tributaries close by you have better chances of catching fish in those waters.

Hey I fished Lake Brittle before, and yes it very pressured caught 2 LMB and 3 catfish.

Potomac seems a bit to far for me :-/

I live in Gainesville, and I usually end up at Brittle only because its close to the house. I know a few spots that hold bass 90% of the time on the lake but anything near the shore points that is easily fishable gets pressured too much to hold fish in my opinion.

I usually spend my weekends in the Rapidan, Shenandoah or the Rappahannock.
