Which should I buy?

Featured Replies

This box contains a variety of assortment and the needed 5" senko with watermelon that I need. All for 19.99.  I thought this was a good deal.

92 series Ika - 3 1/2 inch

  (3) color 239 (Blue pearl w/ black and hologram flakes)

  (3) color 214 (Smoke w/ black, blue and gold flakes)

  (3) color 236 (Rootbeer w/ green and copper flakes)

18 series grub - 5 inch

  (3) color 208 (Watermelon w/ black and red flakes)

  (3) color 237 (Daquairi w/ black and hologram flakes)

  (3) color 140 (Cinnamon w/ green flakes)

  (3) color 156 (Chartreuse w/ black flakes)

  (3) color 176 (Cinnamon w/ black flakes)

  (3) color 196 (Pumpkin w/ black and green flakes)

  (3) color 135 (Smoke w/ silver)

9S series Senko® - 4 inch

  (4) color 240 (Smoke blue pearl)

9 series Senko® - 5 inch

  (4) color 031 (Blue pearl w/ silver flakes)

  (4) color 194 (Watermelon w/ black flakes)

Hooks:

  (5) #5 Gamakatsu split shot hooks with (3) ball bearing swivels

  (2) 1/0 Gamakatsu Texas rigging Sugoi hooks

  (2) 3/0 Gamakatsu Texas rigging Sugoi hooks

...all for $19.98 including the box!

If I ordered 1 bag of Senko, 1 bag of Fat Ika, and 1 bag of EWG hooks it would be 17.47.  But its all of the colors that were specified by the thread. After reading the thread this is what is recommended for me to buy to have a bigger chance of catching bass.

Which route should I go?

Start by buying the box and then add whatever else you think you need!

BTW, Welcome aboard!

That seems to be a pretty good deal even though there are several colors that I don't care for. Where might I ask did you find them??

Whatever floats your boat.  I dont buy kits because im picky on colors, sizes, baits and so on.  But if the hooks and baits sound good to you then the box is cheaper.

yes im also like bassin boy and bassinbrett   the only times i pick up kits is when they are really really cheap and/or have the colors im looking for

If you fish the grubs or ika on a jighead in the rocks you will lose at least three a day. especially if you are not used to fishing them. on a good day you will use a bag of senkos easily. you will build a greater confidence in ONE of those colors and sizes than all of the others combined, even though it may not be the perfect choice. choose a basic color for the body of water you are fishing. clear-natural colors/ dirty water-brighter colors or a dark color with a chartruese tail. personally I wouldnt start with any of the colors in the mentioned box but thats just me (very picky too!!)
