One helpful word of advice from TF...

Featured Replies

Never get braces.  Just got back from the orthodontist and the dentist in one day.  The dentist wasn't bad, but the orthodontist....

:o

The pain....

Grin and bear it  (get it? lol)

It'll be worth it.  Especially with a mug like yours, you're gonna need all the help you can get!

(sorry, I owed you a few, ;) lol)

Hahahahaha.................No sympathy here...........I have had oral surgery, 10 root canals, a 6 unit bridge and 5 crowns................I actually had braces to seperate my teeth as the ones I knocked out moved in their place so I had braces to seperate them again..............Braces are a walk in the park my friend.  ;D ;D ;D

I will admit though, I have a dentist, an orthodontist, an endodontist(Root Canal Specialist) and a periodontist, and it sucks going to ALL of them!

I'm not getting any sympathy here....  ;D

You have no idea how many times I've barley convinced my mom that i dont need braces.

here is my latest excuse:

getting braces involves pulling teeth (for me)

pulling teeth means less teeth

less teeth makes chewing more work

more work chewing means more calories burned

more calories burned means more food intake

more food intake means more money spent on food (and also means more chewing, wich means more calories burnt, wich means more food intake, wich means more chewing.... and so on)

more money spent on food means food price highers (it might not seem it, but it does)

higher food prices mean less food for poor people

less food for poor people means even less food for already starving people

less food for already starving people means starvation, sickness, and death

There for, getting braces can result in death for others from starvation, and NOT getting braces means global prosperity! What i'm trying to say in a nice way is, troutfisher, YOU ARE A MURDERER!!!!!!!

TF,

I have the price of a new Triton Bass Boat in my daughter's mouths. LOL This too shall pass, however after seeing what my youngest went through, I at least have a little compassion for your pain. Hang in there, it's down hill from here. ;)

Well, after reading Alpster's post... I say buy the boat and just don't smile with teeth.   ;)

25 years from now you'll say....."man my teeth look good....BUT I'll never forget that so and so orthotorturer".....It won't be that bad all the time but it ain't any fun...just gotta man up!

Hey TF - Show us your grill

I'm not getting any sympathy here.... ;D

Nope, you are fortunate to have the means to fix your teeth. We have kids in this country that have never even been to a dentist.

:(

Bucket- less teeth does not mean more chewing, it means proper alignment which can save lots of time, pain and money later in life.  Do it now, while you are young and before it affects your jaw.

LBH, you're right, I guess I should be happy to have a good smile.

Hey TF - Show us your grill

Well, since you said so,

;D

Take care of those teeth, boys, and they will take care of you!  ;)

Ever try to gum and apple?   ;D

Without good teeth, you will have to close your split shot with pliers, can't cut line or crack hickory nuts, you would be in terrible shape!   ;D

The Weber Kettle...  a true American classic!!!!

the first two weeks are terrible, but get past that and the occasional tune up and its no biggie. had mine on for 1 1/2 years. there coming off on MARCH 8th!!!! ;D

I went through the same pain in high school.  Every month or so you go back and get new bands and tightening.  Ohhh the pain I lived through for 2 years.  It sucked big time.

With that said it was well worth the 2 year sacrifice.  Now my teeth are all aligned, white (because of maitenance)and in great shape.  Like said above take care of them now and latter you will be better off.

Side note.

Just remember I dont mean this to be ignorant, but if someone teases you about them they havent had braces and probably have poor teeth. Atleast around here thats the way it was.   I dont see anyone who has ever had them be teased by someone who went through the same thing.  You are one of the lucky people to bea ble to get them and reap the benifits.  BTW the ladies like nice teeth.

I've had the braces for about a year and 1/2; it's not that bad now.  The only time it hurt was when the orthotorturers pound the wire onto the brackets...ouch!  (such as on monday)

Definitly take care of your teeth.

I had a girlfriend once who had complete removable bridges, upper and lower

She would only take them out when she was drunk.

I bought that girl alot of whiskey.

(sigh) I'll never forget my "little gumby"

Yeah you'll be sore for a few days, but you'll live. I had braces for a year and a half, it gets better. You'll be happy when its over and you have a nice smile.

Avid....heh heh heh  ;D

Yeah, I think they said I get them off in October.  I think it will be worth it (what with the pain and everything).

There is also a pain I forgot to tell you about.

$4000!  :o
